It obviously all depends on what size games (stakes) you are playing in.

that question is tough as there are so many variables...depends on what stakes youre playing for, how good you are (and youre still gonna have hot streaks and cold streaks), how good your opponents are, etc....Last July I played $1/$2 NL at a local casino a total of 50 hrs...I made $1800 that month at the tables...obviously that rate is unrealistic to continue, but I kept a daily log of hours played and money won/lost to get my total...I know this post is jumping around, but the key is whether or not you are a winning player at a certain level and to get to the level you can win consistent at...gl

I have found that in live play I seem to do extremely well. Online is a completely different dragon though!

On certain sites they offer a rakeback program. It is usually between 25% and 40%.All sites take a rake,in cash games it is a % of every pot that you see accumulating up by the dealer. In SNG's and Tourneys it is the extra amount(usually 10%)that you pay,for a $22 buy in tourney,$20 of that goes in to the prize pool and $2 goes to the site(this is the rake).Rake back programs will give you back A % of all the rake that you payed in for that month.

You usually have to sign up for these programs from an affiliate site before you download the site or sign up to be eligible for these programs.

This question would probably be better asked on the 2+2 Poker Forum. Better yet, just do a search there - I have seen plenty of threads posted there on this exact topic.

The top online pros have made more than most sports bettors could make in three lifetimes. There are so many 19,20,21 year olds multi-millionaires in online poker it's a joke. In this case believe the hype, it's real. What's a myth is what you see on TV. Most live tournament pros spend so much on entry fees that they end up with very little money. Only the one's that are sponsored and have their fees picked up by FTP and PokerStars do well. Online isn't the gravy train it once was still most people would be shocked at how much these guys make online.

I know Phil Ivey cleared $7.34 million in online poker back in 2007, without really trying. It's not like he was playing 12 hours a day or something, just a couple hours a day and extremely high stakes. Imagine if all he did was play online poker..

I've had the EXACT same experience. I'd stick to honest live games if I were going to try to turn a regular income from cards.
