Just how many people can wager on Sports and do it for a living, year in and year out?

I would love to know just how many people can live solely off of gambling on sports...I guess it would be almsot impossible to figure out as most people who claim to are just selling plays...

Just how many sports bettors are making 6 figures a year....100's, 1000's.... 32

a question that ive pondered over and over... it intrigues me because ive got about 150k of ready cash and often wonder if i could make a go of it.. I think and truly believe that you need to also be making another "Passive" income on the side... probably real estate is that venue.. hope we get some good responses here.....

I hope we do too, SSI... I have long given up on those aspirations though...I don't have the patience to do it...Even when i was winning for afew years straight I wondered if I was just lucky...

LOL- How do you really know if you're good or lucky, its like timebomb waiting to go off (next bad streak)....My problem was stepping up my plays waaay before I should have....I was winning at a solid percentage with 200-500 a game plays...then after about a year started playing between 1 and 2K and immediately got clobbered (in a month I had lost all of my 2 year profits), sending me spiralling for nearly two years...

I have just recently made it back to that level...But I will not be risking that kind of money again...

Why would you move to Vegas to bet sports???

A large portion of the REAL professional gamblers(MAIN income) in Vegas make gambling income also from blackjack, video poker, slots, poker, and horseracing also.

Some only one or two of the above mentioned categories.

Very few that solely make their income JUST off of sportsbetting.

In fact, after living in Vegas for 17 years and working in the sportsbook business for 10 years.............I dont know of even ONE that would fit the above category that would be considered to be making a decent living SOLELY on sportsbetting.........not saying that there are not any, just never met any.

Most all the people making their living SOLELY from sportsbetting are doing so OFFSHORE now.

The fact is, if your sharp enough to be making alot of cash betting sports, chances are VERY HIGH you are sharp enough to be making money in MANY other areas as well.

Depends on if you are grinding it out or making large bets hoping to hit more than you lose.

I amde enough to survive on grinding it out. But then again I had money to start with, but I still made more than I lost, and enough to build the bankroll up nicely.

I also was supplementing it with poker. But even that sin't what is ionce was. Cal is MUCH better for poker. When I go back the rooms are packed with guys throwing money away. And those guys are there everyday, not like here when the money has to cycle through on the weekends, and during the week you get the occasional player you don't recognize.

But I know a few guys that make enough to live on. Not what I would call living, but theey eat, buy their smokes, make their bets, and have a place to stay, so I guess that qualifies as making a living. They certainly aren't investing in any 401K packages, but they have a subsistance income.

Judge,
Does this include SPI-VI ?

If so, is she one of the fourteen, or six of them?

Consider this fact about MAKING A LIVING.

In Vegas, you could theoretically make about 1/5 the amount of money say of somebody living in Indiana.

You could live in a hotel for free, eat for free, drink for free, never need a car, etc., etc.

Is this making a DECENT LIVING???

I mean, an individaul could be making $50,000 a year in Indiana at a 9-5 job, be married and have 3 kids..............is that person making a BETTER LIVING than the guy in Vegas making $10,000 and having basically NO expenses??

It all depends on the individual.

Is a panhandler on the streets considered to be more wealthy than an individual that is 1.3 million in debt??

Life is what you make it.......enjoy and be happy and do not be critical of other peoples chosen lifestyle........especially if they are completely happy.

Yeah Fishy but the guy in Indiana who has a wife and 3 kids might call a bad day not getting a BJ or any sex but the guy in Vegas will call a bad day losing a few grand!

Again, why bet sports solely in Vegas??

You have over 500 sportsbooks at your disposal offshore.

If you got what it takes, then you never need to leave your house except for personal errands. No matter where you live as long as you got an internet connection.

True but I think the odds of a sportsbook in Vegas going under are far less than an offshore book doing so!!

True- it is all relative, again we are all spoiled beyond belief...but we are here so lets not complain.

We could have been born in the middle east hoping to survive the day...

Vegas just has a few more outs.

With a side kick or any wireless connection you can get the moves as they happen offshore, and they are generally slow to move here in Vegas. That is the key. While you can get the occasional offshore vs offshore scalp, pre move bet, it is much easier here.

I don't do it full time anymore, but when I did that was the thing to do. Especially if you are looking for pennies. Or see a steam play coming and you want to take a lead the opposite way hoping for the late buy back to get an extra few bucks out of it.
