I can't stand it,maybe it's a limit thing.
On saturday I was stuck shopping with the wife and had to place the 5:00 game over the phone.
So there i was sitting in my car calling 4 books to get the line.Got that extra 1/2 pt and called back..line move there all the same now.Back to skybook..placed my bet.Something that would of took 3 mins at home took 15 mins.

Only reason i asked is a buddy of mine tells me that he would never bet over the net,he likes the idea that he could ask to hear the playback.[Can't they just say "we have no playback"?]
I answered him with one word...PRINTER

I like betting on the net. You can look up the line and now what you are betting into.

Years ago when I had call in books I felt like they were trying to guess which game I was going to bet on and fuk me on the line.

We never will get an accurate number because all the "luddites" that use the phone exclusively probably aren't checking in with us...

Wildbill your right.it seems the phone bettors are mostly higher limit bettors,or they don't have a pc which would make it hard to answer this thread

DOESNT putting the bet in over the phone break the law because of the wire act?

If you like guessing a girl's age by her voice or if you like to be challenged in understanding someone else's English then phone betting is definitely for you

Very seldom. I'm not bilingual and it's such a hassle. Of course, I can't be at my computer all the time so having that option to bet over the phone is always nice to have.

Thing that sucks most IMO is that no one has gone to a technical phone solution either. In Australia the phone business for horses was getting killed by all the $5 bettors calling in a bet just before a race, keeping out the people that had a couple hundred to bet. Their solution was a voice-recognition system, if you wanted to bet under $25 I think it was, you had to call up the voice-recognition system and then you could make all the piddling bets you wanted. Would be nice if some books got on this system as well, would almost be like betting on the net except you could do it phone. Some of the Vegas books offer it on their phone-in system as well, can't be that expensive if they use it. The Nevada system is a bit slow because of the codes with the pagers and all, an offshore system you should be able to get a line within 15 seconds of connecting I would think.
