Have a five team parlay with St. Louis going for the $$ tonight. Just interested to get some input as to how many of you hedge parlays if you are going into the final game with a winner?

I hedge parlays. I normally have 2-3 team parlays. My 2 teamers can sometimes run from $200-$300. In those cases, I always hedge. If you're in a no lose situation, definitely do it.

It is arguable. Some say why did you bet that last team anyhow if you thought they will lose. Others, like me, will say grab the guaranteed money. Truly an independent decision and based on your finances.

normally i play 4 teamers. i bet half of what the parlay is worth against the last team if i have 3 in and the lines are the same.the reason being is i would gess that 80% of the time i lose on the last team. gl in what ever you decide:awesom:

So, if I got STL at -6, which is now at -6'...would it be worth to buy it up to TB +7 to hedge the parlay and take a shot at winning both?

If you are going to hedge when ahead (only one game left on a multiteamer), you should only hedge to win back the original investment. That way it is truely "all or nothing", you don't want to get in a habit of cutting your winnings in half, or by a third. The key is to not lose, so just hedge to win back the price of the parlay (or teaser)..

sometimes i don't understand this place.

are you guys here to bet and make money, or just trying not to lose. what is the point.

in my book when you hedge like that all your doing is screwing with your natural odds of winning.

but in a short answer, i guess check to see how many times you have hedged a game and saved yourself money vs if you would of just left it alone.
i don't do it, so my opinion is worthless on this subject i guess.

Just FYI...hedged and bought TB up to 7'...won the hedge and the parlay...made for a good weekend. I do think this was a somewhat special circumstance where the line could easily be bought above an important number and not all parlays can be hedged like that..but it brought it home last night. Thank god for bad kicking.
