Most countries compete in only a few events and their citizens probably take a lot more pride in winning their Olympic events than Americans which have multiple competitors in literally every event. We finish top 3 medal count every year.

To Americans, the Olympics is really about watching obscure sports that nobody cares about except once every four years.
