How Long Will I Be Banned?

When people get banned: Are there a certain number of days or weeks? Does it vary? Does someone go out and physically punish these people or are they just disallowed from posting? Since Noreaga lives in a different dimension is his banishment length relative to his time perception or is it relative to our dimension? tulsa

Tulsa obviously you are not banned. Unless you are a ghost of a banned poster, then it is up to the Moderator who notified you of your ban. That was not me. So you need to contact whoever it was who sent you an E-mail saying you are banned. I explained in another thread posters get banned by the Advisory Board in the Board room but a specific moderator makes the original recomendation. If you are who I think you are I would guess (only a guess) two weeks. You can wait until tomorrow and send an EM to whoever it is you heard about the banning from and ask for a firm answer.

Noooo no no. I'm just me. Sorry about that, Wilheim. I haven't been banned, yet. My heading was unintentionally misleading, I'm afraid. I should have said "How long will I be banned when I get banned?" And, in all honesty, I do not wish to ever cause such trouble to be even warned. I was just wondering about the administrative mechanics of being banned: if was permanent..if it varied...the time thing with noreaga. Those kinds of things.

And, I promise you, that I don't want to ever be banned by anyone if I can't be banned by you, Wilheim! tulsa

Tulsa I misunderstood. Lengths of bannings depend on the severity of the offense. From what I can see from your posting persona you have nothing to worry about.

just curious to know why anyone would/could get banned from a public forum.

It actually takes quite a bit of poor behavior to even get to the point of possibly being banned...And even then the poster is given ample warning...
