People underestimate the importance of some of the PAC10 home fields. Playing in Corvalis at night is tough for anyteam. OSU caught USC right after they had destroyed Ohio St on national tv and right before USC was to play Oregon and ASU which most considered their top challengers for the PAC10. Add to this, the inexperience of Sanchez at QB and the uncertain RB position for USC. Also, Beavers can play defense. Let's not forget that Oregon St is ranked in the top 20 in total defense nationally. They play a pro style on defense and to beat USC, that's what you have to play. Look at how they confused Pitt a couple days ago. Pitt had no answer for the Beavers defense.
Its just a shame that SC won't get to spank either Florida or Oklahoma. They'd throttle both of those teams very easily and here's why. SC has the athletes to match the Oklahoma WR's easily and it would make the Sooners have to run the ball, which they cannot. Against Florida, They would have Taylor Mays spy on Tebow. My guess, and I've actually discussed this with a couple of NFL Scouts, is that Tebow would not finish the game after being punished by Mays. You ask about Percy Harvin, USC would be able to put their big Corners on him when he is split out or in the slot. As one of the Scouts said and this guy is pretty reputable, USC has better talent in the top 22 that several of the NFL teams in the NFC and AFC west. Litterally everyone on the USC defense will be drafted when they come out on the first day of the NFL Draft. Similar for the offense as well.
