How does steam exactly work?

I figure it is one of two ways. Either

1) a bunch of books get hit at the ExACT same time by a group, causing a rippling effect
or
2) one major book gets hit with a max bet and moves it's line and other books just follow the book who got hits lead

What is it?

Alot of the books follow others.

Probably have info leak out too and smaller limit books feel the groups plays.

Been on 3 way with a guy who moves the line and I watch it drop on premium as he bets.

Group of syndicate employees are all synchronizing their watches and popping the same stuff at the same books at the same time. That is when you hear the term the screen goes black. And yes you better believe the other shit books and anyone else not hit will also move as soon as they see the others get popped. Thus the term moving on air as oppossed to moving on action. Lot easier to chase steam in the old days, now when you get a reputation even the slow one's like to hold you up on the phones to see what's coming in the very near future.

when water gets really hot it evaporates, some times you can see that water rising, which we call 'steam'

hope this helps

Very well said.

But only the BIG shops get hit as they are the ones that take a really big bet, some of the lightweights never get hit, but move on AIR. BW famous for this move in the college ranks.

My favorite is the double back! Punish all those p*ssy books for moving on AIR

Steam is when everyone hears the same BS and jumps on one team! Win or lose that's what they do!
