get online quote from esurance.com..... it's always been the cheapest for me.

Geico is crap.... 15 minutes got me 3X higher! But they do have the best commercials tho! Not that it counts for anything.

I've been just renewing with the Hartford for years, figure I'll shop this time, I expect a bill from them soon.

Is there a standard for how far back they research history ? Geico looks like 5 years, are they all the same ?

Should I lie about a 2003 DUI, or can I find a company that goes back 3 years ?

In Michigan it is five years a DUI stays on your insurance. I probably wouldn't lie about it, but not tell them unless asked. One way you can lower the insurance is take a bigger deductible ($1000).

looks like these online sites all ask

any violations last 5 years ?

so if I said No, they might give me a rate, then raise it later, which is not what I'm seeking.

Worse, they could drop you for not disclosing that info.

Cheapest Insurance

:nopityA: Not only important is the price, but how well they pay. Have had very good luck with progressive since switching over six years ago from State Farm . It was like pulling teeth with a pliars trying to get them to pay and then came out on the short end. Have not have one bit of trouble from Progressive. Had an ex brother in law that has three large body shops that told me Progressive is the easiest to work with of any of the other carriers.

The way to get the best deal is not living in Massachusetts. We have a bad situation here because of how the state actually sets rates. Any company you go to just gives you those rates. We are among the highest rates in the country - probably only topped by New Jersey.

I would check progressive, AIG, and amica. They all seemed to have good rates last time I checked. I agree with others who say Geico is not competitive. How do you think they are paying for all those commercials?

Insurance time again here, bumping thread for easier reference.

I don't even have a quote from my company yet... the mail bitch probably delivered it to somebody else.

Thanks, esurance was by far the lowest of the ones I checked so far at $441 for 6 months.

Progressive $664
Geico $737
