Speak to the Golf Pro at all the course you play at,,,,, the REAL formula is Quite complicated,,,,Dividing the Rateing by your Score,,,, it takes 8-10 rounds to have a "Real" handicap,,,, but I think 4-5 rounds at one course could Generate a beginning handicap,,,,,

Go to your state golf assoc. Ex: Del State Golf Assoc=DSGA Mass Golf Assoc=MGA Isreal Golf =IG

Find a course that is a GHIN member. They can sign you up and you can post your scores via the web or at the computer at each course.

Yahoo Sports has an excellent easy to use handicap tracker on their web site. It is not an 'official' USGA handicap you can use in tournaments, but if you just want to know your handicap, you plug in the: course; date; score; slope and rating and the handicap tracker does the rest.

Another idea: Most golf clubs (especially the muni's) have "associate" memberships for about $25 per year that will give you access to their handicap computer. Just save your cards and stop in to post your scores.
