That is pretty interesting statement. Philadelphia played a Lakers team that was on fire. A team that was on a quest to be the first team to sweep the entire playoffs. A much younger hungrier Lakers team playing great basketball looking for there second championship. Detroit gets a fatter less agile Shaq and a one legged Malone and team that seems to only play well when they are tested.
Iverson did not have any scoring help. He was playing with Eric Snow, George Lynch, Raja Bell,Theo Ratliff, Matt Geiger, and Dikembe Mutombo. Where were the point supposed to come from? I rather Iverson jack up 50 shots a game then have Snow shooting at all. Plain and simple the entire team could not put any points. You take Iverson off the 2001 team and they are below 500 and not in the playoffs.
Detroit has four guys who can put up offensive numbers if someone is having an off game. Billups, Hamilton, Rasheed and Price. I think Detroit is better at every position that Philadelphia except shooting guard.
So far, Larry brown is in the same position that he was in Philadelphia 1-1 with three home games to come. We will wait to see what happens.
I think he did a great job in Philadelphia with much less of a team. Philadelphia was a team with heart and played well beyond there talent.
