It's that time of year and I'm about to get killed on taxes (I get to file a W2 and K1). I'll probably end up owing close to 3-4k in taxes, but with the help of Turbo Tax and a few mistakes (by that I mean adjustments), I might get a couple of bucks back.

Always claim $20/week for church donations, mileage/other work expenses (travel, entertaining seminars, publications, safety equimpment, membership dues etc.), donations to salvation army etc., and volunteer expenses.

Home office write-offs and car donations can be major red flags for an audit.

Just keep your federal effective tax rate (taxes paid divided by after-tax income) at around 10% and you should be OK.

I picked up the IRS manual and it said " Dear Taxpayers" thats when I realized... I am a non-taxpayer and nothing written in this gigantic manual was written for me.

That was over ten years ago. I stopped volunteering back then.
