How about those Eagles

Search
36-10 slaughter over arch-rival Cowpokes. Birds now a 10-3 NFC best on the field record. They clinched a playoff spot today, and now look to clinch #1 seed for home field throughout the playoffs. Hats off to Andy Reid, Donovan McNabb (who has gone through a lot this year) and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles. What a football team.

(thanks to Wilheim for the format for this post)

Hey I'm all for a Patriot-Eagle Super Bowl. What do you think the line would be on a neutral field? btw. The Eagles have beeen my main money maker this season. The Pats although excellent can be scary when it comes to covering spreads. My hat is off to Andy Ried and the Eagles.

I agree with you that would be a great Super Bowl. Pats D is tough (we saw it firsthand) and I think they can be there in the end. Hopefully the Birds can take care of business in the playoffs this year. It's no fun being 2nd best in your conference 2 years in a row!

I think bosox is right. I'd see the Birds as a 3 pt fav though I'm more inclined to put up a 20-13 (Eagles of course) type number for the final. I think the D's would be jazzed up for it but I think in the end our defense would prevail.

Again it's not like I'm going to give you as much of an unbiased opinion as most here would.

The one very big thing the Pats have in their favor is that they won the thing two years ago. I have to say it would be a pretty tuff game to bet against the Eagles in though. Time will tell.

GL tonight. wil.

Yeah that worries me Wil about the experience if the Pats and Eagles do get in there. I'm going to hope that the Eagles after being losers in the NFC Championship game 2 years in a row would not take the Super Bowl for granted. Not saying the Pats would either but it's been a real kick in the you-know-what the last couple of seasons. The first one to STL it was new but they were good enough to beat the Rams and the second one IMO they took the Bucs at home in the cold for granted. They have to get it in their heads that this is the NFL and there is still a lot of parity (other than AZ).

Stay grounded Eagles...you'll be rewarded!

Good luck...

It is incredible what McNabb does with nothing - the O-line has been horrible and the receivers and TE's have been just awful - could you imagine if he had a receiver like Moss just to throw it up to like Culpepper does - he'd throw for 400 yards every other game and no ints.

Eagles -5.5 vs Pack

5.5 because I think you would have the people that would say Ahman Green's running ability could pose the Birds D a problem. Of course by then most of the d line would be healthy and since just about all of our runstoppers are out right now (or have been out at some point this season) I like the Birds chances even more if the Pack make it that far. I mean they beat the Pack on Monday Night in Green Bay in a mess at Lambeau because the Pack D can't completely shut you down.
