If you want to meet see some hot chicks go to El Cuartel(barrio california) on Mondays and La Villa(san pedro) on Tuesday. Midweek there is not alot going on but still you will find some fun at Raices(ladies nite), check out the fresas at Terra U, and when you want to find the stragglers at 3 or 4 in the morning just move your ass on down to Vertigo in Paseo Colon. The weekends, forget about it, wherever you go you will see plenty of beautiful Ticas. If you want to see hot ticas on the beach go to Guanacaste or Punterenas, but for the love of god stay way from Jaco!

I lived in Jaco for about 8 months...
yes.. plenty of whores.. but plenty of tourist chicks.. unlike the city..

there are whores anywhere you go here in this country...well anywhere in latin america for that matter...

and for a person comming from the states to CR for the first time, not conditioned to the shambled state of the city... in their eyes it will be a shithole.. i know it was for me... took time for me to get used to the smell, and sights of the CR city life... i have yet to find a place besides big dogs that i like and feel comfortable.

For a person going on vacation looking for a good time that doesnt consist of 18yr old columbian hookers and cabby's offering you everything from their sister to "cocca"....
Hermosa/Jaco is a good trip and a good time. Realy caters to the Cali kid trying to cut loose and have a vaction.
Lots of things to do... good food everywehre... young crowd and plenty of people that speak english (surf culture). and its only hour and a half from the airport.
and if you decide to jump to the darkside.... its there for disposal as well.

stay away from the city... its a waste.

Philo has been around to quite a few latin american countries so I believe him when he says he has seen alot of it, legalized prostitution is way more visible to the public than its illegal underground counterpart. I myself saw only one brothel in the US(never been to Vegas) it was Mexican run and operated in southern Texas. Is it a latin phenomenon? It would seem so to most North Americans, but then again most of us have never been to Europe or would have a different opinion. In regards to the Americas, yes it is more a Latin American thing than a North American thing.
