I have never said there but I have heard it is pretty nice.

If you are wanting to stay in Manuel Antonio Si Como No, is a little more expensive, but also nice.

hotel california was remodeled a couple of years ago, which it needed. Haven't stayed there since, but heard it was much better now. I mostly stay at the La Mariposa - i get very good rates or at Costa Verde- still more monkeys than people- nice hotels. si como no is very nice - El Parador in my opinion is the nicest in the area

One thing is that I don't like those places being in between, places like Si Como No. There is a long walk to the beach from there, you will probably have to cab it. And because cabs going from Manuel Antonio towards Quepos are required to charge a very low rate finding a cab to take you in that direction can be difficult so you usually will have to call one and then wait 20 minutes for it to arrive. I stayed at the Hotel Verde Mar and it was a great location, literally could stumble out of bed and be in the ocean in 2 minutes or walk down to the village in 5 minutes. The hotels like this one in the middle require a little more work getting around.

i have stayed at many of the hotels there. It is a very nice place. Doesn't really matter where you stay it is all relatively close to the beach. I walked from the end of the beach to Quepos in about a half an hour, 45 minutes. So really it is not that far. Make sure while you are there that you stop in at the rest. in front of the Costa Verde. It is the best in the area.

Darwin you are a stud if you "walked" from Quepos to the end of Manuel Antonio beach in less than an hour. That is a tough hilly stretch of about 4 miles! I think you either are talking about another beach or you were sprinting. Even a cab takes about 15 minutes to do it.

thanks for the stud remark. maybe i was exaggerating a little but, it was faster than i thought it was going to be and it was a couple of years ago , so my memory isn't that good. But it didn't take that long. It was early morning and it was fun. In my car last Nov. it was less than 10 min. from Quepos to the end of the beach. Most likely a taxi takes longer than in your own vehicle.
