I am actually posting this as a seperate thread so that I may have people fade me on this play today as it is a homer play but also a redemption play for me. This past Sunday, Missouri lost to Kansas by 2 at home. The Gods have a funny way of making wrong's right as here they get a 2nd chance to beat Kansas in less than a week and most likely clinch an at large berth. I have felt bad that I had so many follow me down the crapper the past Sunday but imo (take it for what it is worth), Missouri will take care of business tonight vs Kansas. Don't look at the performance of the Tigers last night against motivated Aggies team as they were playing for their departing head coach Wadtkins, a good guy, who is well respected by his players. This Missouri team has taken crap all year and played with immense pressure all year but tonight imo can bring relief to all of their bs. All the Jayhawk supporters will say that they beat us twice and even on closing of Hearnes or that Bill Self has never lost to Missouri. I give the Jayhawks credit as I feel they have performed well considering coaching change and losing Henrich and Collison. The main reason Missouri will win this game su is how the Jayhawks and their fans reacted after win at Hearnes. This loss really hurt Tigers but the reaction afterwards has really stuck in their crawl. Sure, Missouri may go to the tournament if they win this game but this game tonight is about far more than that. This is about flat out pride. I think that Missouri has less than 24 hours to prepare for this game is an advantage as they don't have time to get to overly worked up for this game. I am predicting the Tigers players heads will and are in the right place for this game and as a result, I think they will play their best game of the season tonight similar to the UNLV win. In fact I am betting on it at Missouri +5 and su moneyline. I am not placing it as a goy or any other crappy names for putting out a top play but simply listing it so if anyone wants to give me crap all day leading up to the game they are able to but I hope they are around to give props at about 10:30 pm tonight when Missouri proves itself once and for all. Best of luck.

Kojak I posted this in your thread and I hope this thread you started here wasnt a response to me saying

"NOOOOO

I thought you said you learned yer lesson?

The same thing is happening to you that happened to me with Uconn - only last night I learned to take the other side (though I did buy points and needed to do so to win...)

If I can caution you again PLEASE dont risk it on missouri - I can just hear that giant sucking sound...

By the way what is the line kansas by 5?

Gl anyway I do hope you win."

I didnt mean any offense by it - i was just saying from having plenty of homer experience that you might want to be careful here - and that you might want to consider laying off this game.

But I still do wish you all the luck in the world...

jaypaw,

I didn't do this because of your post as there were others as I know your sense of humor and wisdom by now. I did this as I am looking to redeem myself from last Sunday and also I believe 100% that this will happen. My hope is to gain Kansas support so that everybody is not with me on this tonight. Best of luck.

i had this line at KU -1 or KU -1.5... Looks to be pretty solid, laying off as 1/8 of my bankroll was depleted on the suckASS conrhuskers. That game was disgusting

KOJAK GREAT CALL

I GOT MIZZOU AS ONE BEST PLAYS OF DAY.

ALSO HAD THEM LAST WEEK, THE ONLY MISTAKE WOULD BE TO COMPOUND THE PROBLEM BY TAKING KANSAS TODAY. IF YOU LOSE ONCE ON A TEAM IN A MATCHUP, ALWAYS GO BACK TO THEM.

MIZZOU BIG.

Kojac, do you feel the public will back Kansas or Missou...perhaps the morst value will be to wait till game time?

ss,

I think it will be split. I would say grab it when you can as Mizzou don't need any points in this one but only providing the value.

Mizzou has killed me this year. I look at all that talent on that team and wonder what in the hell are these guys doing. To me they just aren't winners. They will dazzle you during the game when they put it all togather in sprurts. They are as good as any team in America during the miiddle of a game, but they've lost so many close games this year (as well as not shown up for others, i.e.Texas Tech)that they simply don't know how to win anymore.

The last Kansas game in Columbia was the epitome of the way this team has played all year. Missing easy 2nd chance putbacks and chocking at the foul line is this team motto. That and letting asshole teams like Texas A&M hang around all night like they've got a prayer to win the game. That's the worst pick for me so far during Championship week. I just should have burnt that money instead of betting it on Mizzou -12.5. Stupid....I don't think I've ever cussed a team as much as I've cussed Mizzou this year.

With all that said I hope they do win. For some reason I still want to pull for this team. Paulding and Johnson are great college players that came back for their Senior years. With the way things are today that's refreshing.
So goodluck Kojak. If I'm up today I'll probably throw some money on Mizzou just to see If I can get some of what I lost on them this year BACK IN MY BANK!

trulyhandicapping and soulman,

Best of luck as we don't need it today. There will be no luck necessary tonight.

Tigerven,

Get all of your money back on Tigers for the year.No fear my friend, I have put my ass on the line again and though I don't list it as a goy, you know where I stand on this one. Best of luck.

Great write-up, Kojak. I like MU & the points, but not quite as strongly as you.

The KU/MU rivalry is one of the oldest in college sports. These 2 schools hate each other...not dislike, not "friendly rivalry," they DESPISE each other. Goes back to Kansas being a free state and Missouri being a slave state during the civil war. (Not trying to drudge up bad history, but it's a fact.)

Every time these 2 play, you have to throw records, rankings, etc. out the window--it is a dog fight! This is why KU was able to win on the road in Columbia on Sunday, and this is why MU is a good bet to keep it within 4.5 tonight.

All that being said, KU has the same emotions. Their backs are not to the wall like Missouri's, but they would love nothing more than to piss on MU's parade for a 3rd time this season.

I like MU +4.5, but not strongly enough to call it a GOY, maybe a GOW. GL Fellas.

Koj, I'm with you as usual. Self has the Blue Ducks playing very well now. They played their best game of the year last weekend in Columbia, otherwise the Tigers would have won easily. With AJ lighting them up last time, I hope they overplay him and that will leave open threes for
McKinney, Gardner and Conley. I hope Paulding resists the urge to fire up threes and tries to get the ball to the hoop and get to the foul line. Good luck with your picks. This one won't be easy.

great write ups!

Its teams like Missouri and the different angles you can come to on a team like this that makes sports betting so amazing and also I suppose is the reason for the big casinos in Vegas.

Good luck today all

Now I have to say it again

You have a better chance of seeing God today than seeing Missouri within 3 of KAnsas (Tradewinds and other places). My personal line has this Kansas by 14 and I would not be shocked to see a 20 point win by Kansas. Kansas to score 85. Yes it was a two point game at Missouri an a frantic comeback by Tigers in a game they were out of all the way (Also a game Missouri needed in the worst way and meant nothing to Kansas and an emotional crowd, the ref did the normal thing and gave Missouri 32 free throws to Kansas 14 free throws despite Kansas being in front the entire game. but that is expected. Kansas won as they should have) Today, neutral court, no home ref, Tigers horrible as always its a blow out.

And the good things is Missouri will get one more NIT game to play against them in.

This is a disaster of a "team" horrible coach and terrible team work, scheme, defense, and shooting. and they have proved it all year (one good high scoring game at home vs Ok St and that is it) (Belmont, etc, etc, etc, etc,)

anyway should be another great day to debate and as always we get to see the right answer when the final score comes in!!

Kansas 85-70

With you Kojak as Missou might not roll but I see a close win if a not a buzzer loss. Either way, I have them at +3.5 for a nickel.
