Tough night last night.

Just one for tonight. Like Milwaukee, but the number just seems to low so going to pass on that.

Good luck with SF tonight. I think UWM is solid tonight. I've been watching them when I can and they are playing very well. I've become a big Jeter fan after he cleaned house last year and rebuilt his squad. If I have any concerns tonight it would be that the Panthers can be beat down low and Green Bay has a deep bench. It will be a hard fought game no doubt but the Panthers should notch the W

i want to play Milw so bad, but it just seems to easy? the line opened at 3 and is down to -2 with 90% of public on milw? not sure what gives there? usually that type of stuff doesn't phase me, but this line stuck out like a sore thumb immediately, and sense d something fishy. although they have been playing good i don't really trust them either. they rely too heavily on the 3 point ball, which we all know can come and go with the wind. sure they shoot a high %, but you have those off nights. they do seem to have green bay's number though. going to watch this line for a bit and make a decision.
also have a lot of respect for jeter. had a good team last year, and cleaned house. got it up and going again rather quickly though

You bring up an interesting point about the public. I for one do not believe most of those figures and give no credence to that garbage at all. I know that many use that info almost solely to decide which way to go on a game but I have always chose to break down a game based on stats, boxscores and what I've seen, not which way others are going. I'm sure that in some situations it may have some merit but for the most part I just don't buy into it and especially in college hoops. I may be stubborn or stupid and maybe a bit of both but I just trust my stuff and stick to it. Some guys think because they are reading the forums it turns them into a sharp. My thoughts are that we all are basically the public, some are just a bit more educated and seasoned than some others. Just my random thoughts on the subject.

good post, you can get twisted up worrying about every line movement. I get worried when the line moves for me that I'm missing something...an injury, an arrest, travel, etc.

wow Milw down to a pick at some places???

wtf is going on there? no injuries or suspensions, but line is still dropping like a rock. i think milw is clearly the play, just can't understand why the line continues to plummet?

Checked the Panthers site and their message board as well as a couple of trusted injury sites and there is nothing listed. This is also GB's 5th straight on the road.

And to hell with the sharps

yeah one thing I believe in firmly is if I cap a game thoroughly I have to trust my stuff. If the line is moving the other way it is definitely worth a double check on injuries and reviewing some past history of the situation/venue etc...but more often than not I find myself still liking the play and only seeing a little more value in the play after the line move.

When I saw this line my gut instinct was Green Bay just because I liked how they were playing early in the season...can't say I've tracked these teams of late but I think they seem to be going in opposite directions?

I don't much like the card tonight, probably going to watch the 1st half of Marist-Manhattan if I stick around and maybe look for a 2nd half play (leaned Manhattan at the opener).

Good luck with the San Fran play as I'm taking the night off. Waiting for Sunday to put a decent amount on Wake especially if they are an underdog.

Looked at the Saturday card yet? Lines haven't come out, but I'm waiting to see WVU, Villanova, Mich St., FSU, and Miami lines.

I'm 57 years old and all I can say is I've been hearing this public sharps debate for 38 years now. It looks to me like it would have been decided by now! LOL! Do your homework and trust your instincts and let the chips fall where they may. No one person wins them all. I'll take 58-60% any day. Good luck on your Frisco play!

I still have Milw. at -2, but as a pick'em, I think that's a pretty good play. Not sold on SF however....

your right in one aspect. one individual play can't determine if someone is "sharp" or "square" but over a large sample there is such thing as "sharp" "square". i can easily tell by the plays people make who wins over the long haul and who may just be on a hot streak.
