I'm actually in favor of gay rights but talk about shoving it down America's throat

[h=1]White House set aglow with rainbow pride[/h]By ADAM B. LERNER

On Friday evening, the White House was glowing with pride.
The Obama administration bathed the north side of the executive mansion in rainbow-colored light to celebrate the Supreme Court’s Friday ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges, which guaranteed a constitutional right to same-sex marriage across America.

“As of 7:08 PM, the sunlight made it difficult make out the colors, but red, orange, yellow, green and violet were faintly visible,” according to a pool report.
According to a White House official, the lighting was done “to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to progress and equality, here in America and around the world. The pride colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, and tonight, these colors celebrate a new chapter in the history of American civil rights."
While most expected President Obama and other Democratic politicians to celebrate the ruling — he called it “a victory for America” in a valedictory Rose Garden speech — the decision for a White House light show came as a surprise around dinnertime Friday, though the White House had dropped hints all morning.

Friday, after the Supreme Court unilaterally made gay marriage the law of the land, President Obama made a statement from the White House that included this lie:

I know that Americans of good will continue to hold a wide range of views on this issue. Opposition, in some cases, has been based on sincere and deeply held beliefs. All of us who welcome today’s news should be mindful of that fact and recognize different viewpoints, revere our deep commitment to religious freedom.

In other words, “If you like your religion, you can keep your religion.”

This statement from our president is no truer than his lie during the ObamaCare debate about being able to keep your doctor and insurance under ObamaCare.

Obama knew he was lying then. Obama knows he is lying now about protecting religious freedom.

Legalizing same sex marriage was not the endgame for the Left — it is in fact the creation of a weapon that will now be used to marginalize, punish, terrorize, and decimate the Christian religion, its practitioners, and the Church itself.

The small business owners and CEOs already targeted for extinction by the Left are just the beginning.

Churches that refuse to perform same sex weddings will not only be relentlessly shamed as bigots by the left and their allies in the mainstream media, their tax-exempt status will be also challenged; their ability to perform public services will be extinguished. The media is smoothing this jihad, but it is already happening.

Naturally, the government will take religion’s place.

Obama can sing “Amazing Grace,” but he doesn’t believe a word of it.

Obama’s a proven liar, and his comments about respecting religion are a tactical move to get us to take down our guard.

Now I have no dog in this fight. I’m not a religious man nor do I care if men want to marry men or women want to marry women but I believe this the tip of the ice berg when it comes to forcing the assimilation of Liberal beliefs on everyone.

That I vehemently opposed.

Two Judges circumvent the SCOTUS.

From AL.com:

Pike County officials haven’t issued marriage licenses in months, and today Probate Judge Wes Allen announced that his office is now permanently out of the marriage business.

“My office discontinued issuing marriage licenses in February and I have no plans to put Pike County back into the marriage business,” Allen wrote in a statement. “The policy of my office regarding marriage is no different today than it was yesterday.”

Geneva County Probate Judge Fred Hamic also said he intends to permanently close the marriage license bureau in his office, if his attorneys don’t object.

Both judges cited Alabama Code Section 30-1-9: “Marriage licenses may be issued by the judges of probate of the several counties.”

The law says “may” instead of “shall”, Hamic said, which makes a big difference. He said the law permits probate judges to opt of of isuing marriage licenses.

“This decision is not based on me being a homophobic, people can do whatever they want in private,” Hamic said. “It is based strictly on my Christian beliefs.”

I suppose the SCOTUS will just have to intervene once again.

The SCOTUS has turned into a clusterfuck.

The gloves came off, with the justices hurling especially nasty words at each other, shattering the illusion that they are all good friends.

The string of wins for liberals was undeniable. Three years after saving President Barack Obama’s signature legislative achievement from a potentially devastating blow, Roberts led the court to a 6-3 ruling Thursday rejecting a new legal challenge that could have upended Obamacare by denying insurance subsidies to Americans in 34 states.

Gay rights advocates also scored a landmark victory Friday as the court effectively made same-sex marriage rights the law of the land, holding in a far-reaching, 5-4 decision that the Constitution prohibits states from denying marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples.

And in an opinion that would have drawn far more attention in a less action-packed year, the court ruled Thursday, 5-4, that proof of intentional bias is not required in housing discrimination cases. The Obama administration and civil rights groups were so fearful of losing on that point that they maneuvered for years to keep such disputes about so-called “disparate impact” off the court’s docket.

Some court watchers fretted that much of the recent dialogue between the justices devolved to invective and personal barbs. Scalia pulled no punches, blasting the majority decision in the same-sex marriage case as a “judicial Putsch,” and leveling attacks that seemed directed squarely at Justice Anthony Kennedy, who penned the court’s majority opinion.

Scalia called Kennedy’s opinion “often profoundly incoherent” and declared that its “style is as pretentious as its content is egotistic.”

At another juncture, Scalia ridiculed Kennedy’s language as sounding like an aphorism from a fortune cookie.

Justice Samuel Alito also bitterly accused the majority of advancing a “deep and perhaps irremediable corruption of our legal culture’s conception of constitutional interpretation.”

One prominent Supreme Court historian said Friday that such language signaled a growing chilliness and perhaps even animosity between the justices.

One thing for certain, the SCOTUS has proven that words mean nothing and neither does the Constitution.

Today's Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage in all 50 states completely undermines America's democratic process.

That's the bold statement Chief Justice John Roberts made in his principal dissent. In one day, Roberts said, the court has basically transformed the societal institution that has held together humanity for millennia.

"Who do we think we are?" he said. Good question! No, make that a great question!

That John Nolte almost convinces me he will determinedly have an awful life following this SCOTUS ruling

It's good to set goals

Republicans Are Going to Leave the Country and Set Themselves on Fire Due to SCOTUS

On April 28, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in cases from each of the four states that make up the Sixth Circuit: Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. It had challenged plaintiffs and defendants to answer two questions:
Question 1: Must states allow same-sex couples to marry under the United States Constitution?
Question 2: Must states recognize the legal marriages entered by same-sex couples in other jurisdictions?
The Court this morning answered yes to both.
That means there a number of things that we can all look forward to. Here are just a few.

Joseph Farah, founder of WorldNetDaily, the one-stop shop for right-wing lunacy, sent out an all-points bulletin to governors last week suggesting that they secede from the union if SCOTUS rules against state bans of same-sex marriage. We can look forward to him and his followers leaving the country. I suggested Somalia as a perfect bastion of libertarianism and homophobia.

Earlier this month, Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, in an unfortunate choice of words, suggested that homosexuality was being "crammed down [the] throats" of Christians, noting that Tiffany's & Co is "advertising wedding rings for gay couples." Graham called for a boycott of the jeweler and Wells Fargo, which apparently both use same-sex couples in their ads. Ironically, he posted his outrage on Facebook, whose CEO and founder marched alongside his employees in 2013 in San Francisco's pride parade. He and his flock are going to run out of places to shop and bank pretty quickly.

Another particularly nutty preacher, Rick Scarborough, an ex-Southern Baptist Bible thumper who runs Vision America and the Judeo-Christian Council for Constitutional Restoration claimed he had congressmen interested in signing a pledge to oppose any court ruling making same-sex marriage legal:

Tom DeLay was stoking homophobic fears and warning of a massive revolt if the Supreme Court rules to strike down gay marriage bans. "If this Supreme Court rules against marriage, all hell is going to break loose," DeLay said on The Steve Malzberg Show.

DeLay went on to say that he had pledges signed by politicians, including -- who else? -- Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum, who have vowed to defy a ruling by SCOTUS. Of course, neither of them holds any political office, but why should that matter? They're the dynamic anti-gay duo.

The SCOTUS this week has proven the Anti-Federalist Papers right.
