What they are doing is waiting to see which team u want to bet, and they they decide if they want to book the bet, if they dont they will just change the line, its a joke and a shady practice, they are not the only book that does this!

It gets even better. Hollywood Sportsbook (www.hollywoodsportsbook.com) has taken away the option for me to buy points.

Luckily, I have their sister web site and still have the option to buy points.

What is happening to this book? Are they scared? Really, and I don't mean to sound like an ass here, but really. If you want to book, book. If you want to manipulate the software, be up front about it. There are plenty of WagerStreet sportsbooks out there (scared to take a steam play).

Frustrated, but I like them since I am a post up player.

IMO Hollywood should come off the sceen. They have gone way downhill. Why hasn't the guy from hollywood come in here and explain. He chimes in on every other topic on hollywod?

I placed a call over 24 hours ago and have not yet received a response. I like Fernie and think this is out of his hands. Yes they have the right to do anything they want but I feel their is a lot of people from this site playing there and this warrants an explaination.

Try asking Hollywood about the delay feature. They won't even admit they are doing it. One of my friends had to contact them at least 10-15 times before they finally admitted that they had put a 30 second delay in his account. He was mostly given some bs about heavy traffic at crunch time. Yeah, right!

Your are correct Shrink. they don't move on air. But they also cut your limits now( which the never did in the past) They manually accept your inet wagers now( which the never did in the past) and IMO they do not belong on the screen anymore. They are a scared book, and yes I don't think it has anything too do with Fernie. And if they would come in here and admit it and respond too the thread like they do all ohters they are mentioned in, they would be better off instead of just ignoring the issue. Just my opinion. I used too love this book.

drunk,

I did speak to them already and I suspect they will post when their main guy arrives later...

To answer your question about limits, they told me that you can still bet the higher limits on PHONE, as just the internet ones have been reduced...

Hollywood Policy concerning professional action

To all parties concerned,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Hollywood Sportsbook would like to let this and any other fourm know that we have never thrown out a player for betting steam. <o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Our Lay -107 plan was created to accommodate recreational bettors looking for the convenience of reduced vig wagering on the internet. <o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

After evaluating online limits and wagering patterns for the past few months we determined that many of our professional clientele had re-opened accounts under the
Lay -107 program and we were being double and triple “hit” on games over the internet.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Any sportsbook allowing this type of activity would be operating an irresponsible business model.
<o:p></o:p>

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Hollywood</st1:place></st1:City> considers these players great handicappers with a strong knowledge of sports gaming, and has decided to limit their internet wagering abilities. <o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

These particular players are more than welcome to Lay -110 over the phone or internet and play whatever they like.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Hollywood International has been in business for 8 years by practicing responsible bookmaking in order to insure our customer’s accounts are secure and that <st1:City><st1:place>Hollywood</st1:place></st1:City> will be around for years to come.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

We apologize to the small percentage of customers that these changes have affected, we never intend to offend anyone, and ask that you please respect our policies regarding professional action.

Hollywood,

I am a credit player with Hollywood. I lay - 110 on most wagers I place, unless the juice - 105 or - 115 or I am buying points, which is NO longer available to me on the web site.

Why did you take this option away? Also, since I am a - 110 player and have never deposited money with Hollywood, why the rule change? Obviously, you've implemented a time delay on accepting my wager, so why not change it back since the software can be customized?

Book or don't book, but don't jack us around.

chalk_eater,

The buying points feature has never been removed. When entering a dollar amount on a straight wager, you should see a drop down box with the option to buy points. If you don't see the box, then you need to contact the office so we can check your account and fix the problem.

Hollywood sportsbook - thank you for posting in this thread. I assume your response is an admission of the delaying / line changing tactic? It seems so, I just want to be sure.

Chalk;

You first posted you're a post-up player with Hollywood

Frustrated, but I like them since I am a post up player.

2 posts later, you turn back and post:

So, which one is it?

Had I been a little sharper and I woul've believed you were up to something... Especially, after seeing how promptly my man chips/shoebox points out how unfair the 'delay' practice is for steam chasers.

It looks pretty simple to me, Hollywood made a decision that affects mostly steam chasers on their credit end... As much as you guys hate this, it's just business ... Accept it and move on... I don't see anybody complaining about Bodog's bookmaking model... Why should this be any different...

And since when are credit matters and credit limits discussed in the forums... wouldn't you rather bring these issues to your agent's attention ... Or is your agent too busy posting here as well?

With all due respect guys, check out the credit sharpies posting here:

Good thing i'm as square as a box... Otherwise, i'd think you're out for a hunt, Chalkster... But that'd be outrageous for me to suggest, hey?

Huck Fin, if he got busted or not, it doesnt change the point of the thread

Will, The differnce between BoDog and Hollywood, is that Hollywood is on the Don Best Screen, which has customers that pay $550 a month to view Hollywoods lines that are suppose to be available to everyone.

I love Hollywood and will always play there, just offering my opinion on this mater,

SO ARE YOU SAYING THE SAME PEOPLE ARE HITTING THE GAMES IN THEIR CREDIT ACCOUNT AND THEIR 107 ACCOUNTS AT THE SAME TIME?

We apologize to the small percentage of customers that these changes have affected, we never intend to offend anyone, and ask that you please respect our policies regarding professional action

SMALL PERCENTAGE? I CALLED A DOZEN PEOPLE I KNOW FROM THE SHARPEST OF SHARPS TO THE SQUAREST OF SQUARES AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING ALL OVER.
