Bowling Green is looking like money. Purdue is starting a freshman QB and BG has a QB who is leading the nation with 12 TD passes.
dbanana0-9
Yeah, I kind of like BG here too, but bottom line is both of these teams are pretty bad. With a total that high (~75) there will likely be a LOT of scoring, so such a small spread scares me, as this one could go either way really. But don't think it's a bad play.
Here are a few I like this weekend.
BYU +5.5 @ Michigan. Just not that impressed with Michigan, and BYU plays tough and Hill's backup has looked OK so far. A little worried about long road game after tough loss last week though, but I'd have to take the points here as a BYU win SU would not be a shocker at all.
LSU -24 @ Cuse. Probably pass on this one, although I think LSU can win by 30 if they want to, just don't know what their motivation for the blowout will be, and they might pull starters in 2H if lead is big enough.
Rice +34.5 @ Baylor. That's a lot of points to give to a decent Rice team. I mean, it's still Rice, but for mid-level type teams, Rice is always a tough out. Baylor's D will be their downfall here, as I think they let Rice in the endzone enough to stay within the number.
Notre Dame -29 vs. UMASS. ND certainly has the talent to destroy UMASS here, but coming off of a hard win vs. GT and has Clemson on deck, so might pass.
Texas A & M -7 @ Arkansas. Arky is having a tough go of it so far, and I think A & M is pretty solid. Hate laying that much on a road conference game, but .....well I already did.
Ball State +20.5 @ NW. Don't think the Cats are designed for blowouts. They've looked good so far, but I think BSU can keep this one within 2 TDs.
Arizona State +5.5 vs. USC. Pretty easy play here with the home dog/decent team vs. USC who just had a tough loss vs. Stanford. Far from a lock (not what I meant by "easy play"), but will be on Devils for sure here.
A lot of games on my radar this week, but those are the ones I narrowed down to so far. I think now that most teams have 3 games in, we're all starting to get a feel for who is who, so the "lean list" gets long. Just have to pick the right spots on the right teams and grind it out.
I think a good "action" play on the Friday card is UVA +3 (or more) at home vs. Boise. Haven't decided on that one yet. Probably hit up the wax vape and meditate on it some! !~~~!!~~~!
CG, I know you aren't into getting advice, so I'm not here to give any. But good to see you (at least thinking about) on a flat betting strategy. These cards are tough, hard to put one game too far above the others. That's why I pick my plays, narrow it down and just flat bet across the board. If there is that ONE GAME that stands out above the rest that I want to throw down on, that's what I do and leave the rest off. Easier said than done though.
