who is in?

Betjam will likely be the one to hold money, as they are safest for americans, and many already funded there.

Anyone who needs some help funding just for the contest can IM me if they want.

Id like to implement "Live Lines" vs 'Posted Lines" this year.

$300? $400 $500?

last year we had 15 guys, this year the economy is much worse and offshore is not at its peak for sure, so id live it if we can break that old record.

Last year we started on NOV 1 after everyone had 1 month to digest.

Consider me in as well for whatever amount you guys decide on. My question is who polices the line and for the time it's posted? Have you guys ever had a problem with a fudged line in the Betjam baseball contest?

VIC,

JOH has been running this contest, and I gave up early (dont ask me why, but baseball really frustrates me).

anyway, I beleive everything has been smooth.

we have a bad line reporting thread here;
http://64.40.117.4/showthread.php?t=566626

and there has not been one comment in it all year.

I don't read every post JOH makes in the Baseball Contest thread, but do recall seeing at least two posts during maybe June/July range where he graded a contest selection as having had bogus lines.

(if you lose a 'bogus line' selection, it counts...if you win, it's No Action)

Oh, and count me in for any amount up to $500

SS, I owe you one more envelope for MLB and anticipate no problem funding the NHL contest from my end

We actually didn't start until like Nov 22 if I recollect right.

I'd like to suggest we use Nov 15 this year. That allows right at six weeks of season to get going and helps us all (supposedly) with improved analysis.

Most teams play a lighter schedule in first 30 days, so we'd still be looking at about 70 games per team.

We tended to use the picks thread to report bad lines... probably why nothing was in that thread above.

I'm down for the hockey contest. Agree with Barman that mid November is pretty good time to start.

As for the post up fee, if you leave the post up fee at 300, you'll probably get greater participation, especially the fringe players. Us hardcore hockey enthusiasts ie VegasVic, TRYTryTry, SS, Zapster would be in regardless of the post up amount. Just my .02

last year was $400.

but I do agree, better to keep this thing at $300 to get as many participants as possible, if we sneak it up to $500 then we might be scaring some people away.

i'll be in for sure - will it be just ML's like the baseball contest?

Nov 15 is a good starting date - we could get more players a month and a half in.

I prefer only ML's, however some like the totals also, this is why I then prefer "Live Lines" coz the vig on the totals changes so drastically that the numbers can get stale quick.

The above is what a potential hockey post could look like using LIVE LINES.

The way I made that post above was by going to the betjamaica website, entering in 4 plays for 10$ each and then clicking bet.

then this page comes up, of course the bets do not get placed unless you hit confirm again, but it makes a nice betslip that can then be copied and pasted into the thread for contest plays.

One downfall to this method is that contestants would have to have at least $40 in their account at all times in order to be able to create the betslip in the first place.......

actually, lol, you would need to have more than $40 if you were rislking more.

I tried doing it for $1 bets, but betjamaica minimum is 2$
