I stayed away from the side on this game for the exact reason you pointed out. You know Toronto will show up big for this game. But Montreal is starting to turn it around and obviously need the point(s). I think it's a typical barnburner played wide open and the over 6 -128, (currently at Matchbook), looks like a solid play.

Randall the Handle's site has this:

The Habs have a scheduling advantage here, as the Leafs will play its third game in four days and the tail end of back-to-backs after they got whacked in Philly last night 8-5. The Habs also have an edge in net but that’s where the advantages end and there’s no way I’m passing up on this one. The Leafs have a chance to hurt the Canadiens playoff chances and that’s plenty of incentive. Furthermore, the Leafs are the superior team and have been for the better part of the last three months. The fact that Montreal has won four of five means absolutely zilch, as they beat Tampa, the Islanders, Chicago and Atlanta and in the latter game they looked horrible. Thus, in reality, the Habs have had one good win (against Chicago) in the last few weeks and that does not warrant them being a –1.70 road favorite in Toronto. The Leafs have recent wins over Washington, Calgary, Philly, not to mention a 5-2 win in Montreal just two weeks ago. This line is not only ridiculous, it’s completely wrong, as the Leafs should be the chalk here. Huge overlay. Play: Toronto +1.60 (Risking 2 units). <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I respect this capper greatly but his view sounds a touch biased. The fact that Montreal's PP has taken off since Scheinder's arrival, (9/40 last 10 games), and Toronto has the worst ranked PK in the league justifies Montreal being favored all by itself. Forget about all the other crap, Gerber in net, playoff incentives, etc.

There is no doubt the Leafs will be fired up for this one. Every Leaf/Habs matchup on hockey night is a war regardless of the standings or time of year....BUT to say the Leafs should be favored? Come on.

How many of you fellows, besides Randy the Handle, live in Toronto?

This capper apparently lives in TO, and we know how all TO residents
love their Leafs {or Laffs} to the death, and love to hate Les Habs ;

Might this have something to do with a recent comment that "Montreal
is by far the worst team in the leaque" {slight exaggeration on my part
with the quote there} ;

P.S. My comments in this post are not entirely serious ;

What a shot by Kovalev.

I hope this is gonna be one of those days where he shows that when he tries he has just as much talent as guys like Datsyuk, AO, etc...

The odds are stacked against me... since he only has 6-10 of those a year.

sherwood is a Leafs fan. Anyone reading that write up can clearly tell it was a written by a biased Leafs fan who hates the Habs. Too funny

What I want to know is WTF were those stupid Leaf fans standing up and cheering for when they scored the second goal to lose 6-2? Are they actually mentally challenged with their nonsense? Seriously anyone who lives in Eastern Canada can account for this. Leaf fans are one of the dumbest fan bases in all of professional sports. Wouldnt shock me if a bunch of loud mouth Leaf fans idiots got their faces punched in by Habs fans tonight because they chirp garbage more than anyone and their franchise has been a disgrace for so many years. Like why were they still in the building when they were down so bad in the 3rd period. Habs fans already left the building two weeks ago midway through the 2nd period during the Leafs pathetic version of what they claim was their second Stanley Cup this season. ROLFMAO Hillarious shit! @):mad:
