Now by no means are we suggesting that anyone should have bet Appalachian State over Michigan or Stanford over USC. In fact, there was no money line available on Appalachian State since they are a Division I-AA school, and Stanford closed at around +4500 on the ML, not even close to the BE of +6664 for road underdogs of +27 or more

Railbird had both winners on the ML , he told me the next day in a PM.
I believe him too.

I seem to remember that Stanford ML being higher, more like $10k with USC being about -40k. Guy parlayed ND ML (that was the week they beat UCLA as 20 points dogs) to Stanford ML, won something like $20k on a $10 bet.

Houston (Andre Ware team) was -65 or so against SMU the first year back from death penalty and covered. That is the highest I remember.

I remember OU and NEB used to routinely be favored by 40-50 pts back when the Big 8 was still around and teams like Kans and K State and I State were absolutely horrible.

He told the bookie to keep the money, he didn't need it, he only wanted to prove how good he was. He then took the San Bernardino under 10 league on base percentage leader for ice cream. (two scoops)

Don't forget all of the terrible teams Missouri fielded in the mid-late 80's and early 90's. It got so bad fans created nicknames for the slaughters they had to endure.

Oklahoma 77 Missouri 0.........nicknamed the Norman Conquest
Texas AM 73 Missouri 0.........the Aggie Massacre
Kansas St. 66 Missouri 0........Rout 66

One year Missouri played an average Illinois team in Champaigne. Missouri lost 42-0 not crossing midfield the entire game and getting their very first down with 3 minutes left in the 4th Qtr. Talk about brutal.
