Maybe you guys have heard of (or even participate) in one of the 'high roller' fantasy football pools like WCOFF, TheDraft, AFFL, where you plop down $1250-$5000 for a chance at a few hundred grand. I have a problem with the percentage of the fees being paid out as prizes. TheDraft, at 80%, is the best. WCOFF is 77% and AFFL is 72%. You also have to haul ass to Vegas for the drafts.

I'd like to see a similar pool/contest for hockey. At least $1000 an entry. Any interest out there? Draft held in Toronto, of course, being the true hockey capital of the world.

nanuk,

are you nuts!!! Have you ever been to Montreal? How can you even say a comment like that? People die and breathe hockey here, even in the summer. I swear to GOD, when I jog or walk on the streets here in the 83 degree weather well before hockey started, there are ball hockey games going on in every corner. During the expos wildcard race, people in the restaurants I would eat at were talking about the upcoming Habs.

Montreal is the hockey capital of the world boys. Sorry...no question about it.

I have to agree, I was in Montreal and Toronto 5 years ago, and the hockey capital, and the feel of hockey ooozes out everywhere in Montreal.
In TO it's not quite like that.

Yes, but I will give credit to Toronto though. The fans in Toronto are more knowledgeable than Montrealers. I hate to admit it, but it's true. The fans in Montreal love their hockey so much here and are obsessed with watching the game because we had some great winning teams here in the past and the history is there.

But... they really don't understand the rules fully. When I go to games at the Keg, fans boo any calls against the home team, like when a ref calls no goal because puck never crossed the line, or an obvious bad call. They are very stupid here. Those dumb frenchmans get on my nerves. There are more Habs fans here, than hockey fans, but they do love the game and enjoy watching it a lot. Whereas in Toronto, the fans really understand the game, and when they boo a call, they have a legitimate case each time. Very knowledgeable hockey connaisseurs in Tory. I really respect that.. Toronto is an overall great sportstown, unlike Montreal, who only are a great sportstown when their team is winning. If we are winning, they are the best fans in the world. When we are losing, it's a crappy sports town, unlike toronto.

I think they understand the rules, they just love thier team, and get pissed off when things don't roll thier way.
I know the rules, and I boo every call that goes against The Habs....
