There seems to be a lot of CR residents on this board, how much does an average bookie makes down in CR? Just curious...I know for a fact how much a vegas bookie makes so I just wanted to compare salaries.
Thanks people!

When u say bookie, do you mean the owner of the company that runs the book, or the actual guy that books the wagers? the clerk?

if youre talking about the actual guy that sits there and picks up the phone and takes down your wagers by placing them in the computer, those salaries start like at 3 bucks an hour

What??????????? 3 bucks an hour, are you sure man? I was talking to a vegas "clerk" and he makes $30 an hour, that's ridiculous isn't it?

$4 -$8 bucks an hour for experienced bet writer(unless you work for slim!)
$5 $-12 for a Wingman, line mover pay varies quite a bit from place to place

Keep in mind the cost of living is quite a bit lower here, prime example is my water bill $10 and Electric bill $30

I got here 1 month ago and I've talked to several kids who work for sportsbooks, they were all very polite and their english was really decent, I'm a little stunned with $3/h.

$3-10 tax free though. How much do you get with $30/hour after taxes? I make more than $30 an hour in the states, doesn't seem like so much after you pay uncle sam.

You have to put things into perspective.

if you make below a certain level (I think its something like 700 USD) there is almost zero income tax, however you have a 9% or so deduction that goes towards the Social Security system

honestly I think there are other positions where there is a lot more stress, like linemanager, or customer service manager or IT ............in those positions when you screw up the screw ups are typically VERY LARGE

Girls are amazing here, they all have great abs, have you noticed? I am from Santa Fe New Mexico so I am used to seeing all types of cultures but I went to pubico bar a couple of weeks ago and I thought I was in wonderland.

Cool I want to work while I'm here at least a seasonal job, I've spent $1500 bucks in less than 4 weeks. Do you think buying drinks for every girl you meet is wrong? I've had plenty of luck don't get me wrong but I was just wondering if that's what locals do.

And typically that is why you get paid more, so you can save more for the day you get fired the first time you make that really large screw-up. I prefer to avoid screw-ups if at all possible ;) Of course, doesn't always go everyone's way all the time :(

Remember that you would need a work permit to do that!, or is going to be harder to find the job!

And you cant never compare salaries from Vegas to here cause remember they come down here to pay less and get richer, jeje
