Arkansas/Minnesota having same season
Both played in the MCB at the end of last season.
Both have running-type quarterbacks.
Both started the season out of the Top 25.
Both ran off impressive win streaks at the beginning of the season (UM, 6-0; Arkansas, 4-0) to get into or close to the Top 10.
Both beat the Starkville out of Tulsa in getting there.
Both won on the road against traditionally elite programs (UM, Penn St.; Arkansas, Alabama & Texas) in getting there.
Both were then poised, with two home games on the second and third weekends of October, to take full control of their destinies.
Both sets of fans were fully convinced that these were BCS teams, this was the year.
Both then had heartbreaking, close home losses in BOTH of those games. Minnesota's losses were by a total of 9 points, Arkansas's by a total of 12.
One loss was to a team that although a traditional power, they're pretty crappy this year, and surely we'll beat them. (UM, Michigan; Arkansas, Florida).
The other loss was to a team that is good some years, others not, surely we're better than them this year. (UM, Michigan St.; Arkansas, Auburn).
Not to mention Minnesota has a travelling secretary named Swine, and Arkansas has a travelling secretary named Rodent.
It's eerie, I tell you. Bowl rematch coming?
