whats the word on dats and lidstrom? I know injuries aren't disclosed but is there any speculation going around in the detroit area?

I heard. that dak's is a foot but just a minor injury and the day to day status is very real. Lidstom on the other hand has been kept TOP SECRET. not sure if its because they dont want anyone targeting the specific injury, but I'm afraid its more because its pretty serious

He's been off the ice for an awful long time for a shot to the foot. Seems like the swelling should be down by now. They just dont tell us shit anymore. He very well could have a broken foot and they'd never tell us till the playoffs were over. Bastards!

Lidstroms injury was crazier. Chelios said he had dinner with him Sat night and not a peep out of him. Then they call him Sunday morning saying he's replacing him in the lineup.

The Detroit Red Wings scratched defenseman Jonathan Ericsson(notes) from Game 5 of the Western Conference finals against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The team said Ericsson had surgery after being diagnosed with acute appendicitis Wednesday, but is expected to return for Detroit’s next game. The Swede had abdominal pain after the morning skate.
