I was asked a month ago after winning a handicapping contest to start sharing some of my selections with the board. I will be doing just that for the rest of the Saratoga meet as I warm up for the National Contest in January. I would like to give some reasons for picks rather than simply numbers. I'm a value player so sometimes you will see longshots and sometimes you'll get a 3-1 horse that has a 70% chance of winning a race. I do like Pinny matches and will share some of those as well.
As a rule I don't like betting 2 year old races BUT in Race 2- If Romans horse is live on the board, he is your most likely winner. I have seen this light workout plan from him before. He has a habit of keeping workouts off the charts(no joke--so does Carlos Martin and a few others)
Race 7-- Been burned a number of times so far betting horses with outside posts on the inner. The inner at the SPA is tighter than most anywhere. The mellon plays much fairer. Either way, this race is interesting b/c there looks to be plenty of speed signed on here to keep the pace honest. Theconfidenceman is the play with JR signed on and blinks added. Voss's horse may be a close second, but C Velaz has a habit of getting pieces of races lately especially on the turf where a number of rides have cost me quite a bit on money (save All Trumps where he couldn't screw it up)
Race 8--Will be supplied later.
Race 9- Jenny Joy if Bailey is off the horse. Otherwise, I'll take a shot with the rail horse in here with Coa aboard.
