I dont pay attention too much to politics or religion usually, but the fact that no Republican House members voted for this recovery plan caught my attention.

#1...Can someone please tell me why all the Republicans voted against it, or in other words what was the main reason for voting against it?

#2...Do individual American citizens get stimulus checks again with this bill or no?

Theoretically the Republicans are supposed to stand for smaller government and less spending thus no votes. I believe there are more checks coming. :toast:

Perhaps I can be of assistance here. Tax breaks for companies equal jobs for the people cause those their companies have more money to pay and employ people to do the tasks that make profits for the company. This be a win win situation. If the companies can't employ, they be no jobs for the people. Taxes are to the detriment of companies cause they can't employ the people.

You guys are partially right. But I think the main reason that the Repubs refused to vote for this "stimulus" package was because the Dems bastardized the most important bill that we will see in our lifetimes by ladening it with pork, fattened government programs that are already bloated to the breaking point, and initiated new government programs that will carry on forever. The Republicans saw none of that stuff as being part of the spirit of a bill that was intended to prevent America from falling into unemployment numbers that could rival the '29 Depression if the proper grease isn't applied. Obama should never have let Nancy Pelosi author this bill. It shoulkd have been written in the White House.
