Going with Miami again guys this time at -14 against North Carolina. I have done my homework to back me up on this. North Carolina is nowhere near the team that NC State is and Miami handled them on the road. Add in the fact that Miami wants a good showing for a higher BCS ranking and we have a cover here. The extra 7 points gives a buffer for unexpected events like fumbles or interceptions.

Last week's suggestions for the 2nd team had winners from the following-

truelyhandicapping - Mich. & a 4-teamer
shortbus & GoSooners - OSU
CalmMcEnroe - UTEP & So. Fla.
quantumleap - UCLA

Typically, college teasers are a bad idea. Some of the reasoning behind this is what jwunderdog said last weekend, the scores of college games vary widely.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

At the risk of repeating myself, I agree with you on most games in college foots. Every rule has its exceptions and I think Miami is one of them.

Good luck.

Just adding my 2¢ worth. What you`re basicly asking is for the dog to bring the gm to within a 1-7 pt. window. RARELY do the pts. used in a teaser matter. Given that if you must join gms in a parlay use a staight one. Because nine times out of ten you`d have won anyway, thus increasing your $$ tenfold. A capper on another site bet 2K (supposedly) on a 10pt 4 tm, laying 2600 to 2000, ALL the gms won w/o the teased pts, he would have won $26,000, betting a straight 4 tm. I occasionaly bet a 6pt 2 tm @ even money in the NFL. Luck to all.

Used judiciously, teasers can be very profitable in college. The lines are much tighter than they used to be. About half of my losses are by less than 7 points. If that is the case (and you are picking 52.38% winners), you will make a profit on teasers. Case in point: this week I had a very good week, but I bet so many games, I still had eight losers, including losses by: 5.5, 4, 6.5, 2, and 2. You just need to identify games in which the expected variance is low.

Kansas is in a great spot for a teaser play. Texas Tech also. Same for Texas. Depends on how many games you're teasing though and what the spread is at the time.

7 pt. Teaser Ideas

Iowa -4.5

WVU -8

Auburn -10.5

Texas -7.5

No. Ill. -13.5

UTEP -8.5

Utah -10

I'd do all of these in a 6 team teaser if my bookie took teaser bets...

First off, how can you say UNC is not the team NCSU is? Hell, they beat them. Not only that but UNC has only lost to top 15 teams this year, LOU, FSU, UVA, and Utah. Secondly, if you are going to tease this game, do it UNC +28. Here is MY homework:
Miami has only beat one oponent by that much in their last 10 games. There is no way they can cover that on the road!

If you need a second game for this play take:
UGA Even

Excellent advice here. Those points usually don't matter. But, teasers are more valuable in the NFL, and later in the season when the oddsmakers get sharp with their lines.

I agree silver7, I stopped doing teasers and stick mainly to parleys now, usually only crackers though!

You make a valid point by bringing up the fact that UNC beat NCSU. I was looking at the games where UNC got beat by the top-15 teams. They didn't come within 22 points of any of them. If Utah, Louisville, Florida St. and Virginia can beat UNC by 22 points or more, I feel Miami can too.

You may have something there with the +28. Sometimes teasers can work both ways in the same game.

I have been looking at Ohio St. at home. Ohio St. hasn't performed up to their potential lately so they'll be looking for a patsy to help them look better (like they did against Indiana last week at home). Thanks for the input.

I felt bad last weekend going 1-5 with my 2nd-half totals in early games. I came back though going 6-0 in late games. I've refined the process of my picks so hopefully this weekend will be killer.

Good luck.

Going with Utah -12 with Miami at -15.5 for a 2-team 6-point teaser. The 6-point teasers are at even money while the 7-point teasers are at -120.

Just thought I would throw in some more teasers as a test. All these teams except for Fla. St. are at least 4-2 ATS with the 6 points thrown in.

Miami -15.5
Utah -12

Cal -9.5
Auburn -11.5

Ohio St. pk
Va. Tech +0.5

Florida St. -4.5
Texas A&M -16

Stanford +10.5
Kansas +2

No. Illinois -14
Minnesota -11
----
3-team teasers:

Texas A&M -12
Miami -11.5
No. Illinois -10

Utah -8
Auburn -7.5
Minnesota -7

Cal -5.5
Florida St. -0.5
Ohio St. +4

Va. Tech +4.5
Kansas +6
Stanford +14.5
----
4-team teasers:

Auburn -4.5
Utah -5
Cal -2.5
Miami -8.5

Kansas +9
Florida St. +2.5
Stanford +17.5
Ohio St. +7

Va. Tech +7.5
Texas A&M -9
No. Illinois -7
Minnesota -4
