1988 Barry Sanders Oklahoma State RB - many say he is the greatest RB of all time

1987 Tim Brown Notre Dame WR - 104 TD's 17 seasons in the NFL

1986 Vinny Testaverde Miami QB - founded the united negro college fund and paid for most of the michael jackson burn center. .276 carrer touchdowns . .on the way to practice one day Testaverde saw a girl who was sad becuase she missed the bus, so vinny brought her to school --and she was on time. ..set a carrer high for interceptions in a game, only to break it the next week. .became the only Tampa QB to manage not to get a SB ring somewhere. .set the NFL season record for turnovers in overtime games by a starting QB. .one time when there was no punter, the coach sent in Testaverde and he punted it for 63 yards, only to see the returner zip by him for a touchdown. .hates broccoli. .favorite color is maroon

I did give a quick look at that trio Rob, but Vinnie kinda hurts that group...Maybe an old timer can find tree older players...the 3 I selected were like all world college players!

I'm not even sure which was best, they all 3 were just unbelievable backs.

As far as pro careers, I guess Campbell, Dorsett, then Billy Sims, but mainly because Sims great career was cut short....He was the original great Lion RB...When he played at OU they had like 3 great runners all could take it o the house on every play! It was some backfield...Even the QB Thomas Lott was a great runner

I personally think Herschel Walker is the best College player I ever saw...

If you didn't see Billy Sims play, trust me he was as good as anyone....His name recognition isn't what some of the others is because he had a short NFL career, but back in the late 70's at OU he was the man !

I had the priviledge to meet and share a box with Pete Dawkins (Army HB) at The Kentucky Derby (circa 1986). What a classy, honorable gentleman. At that time he was President of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Just by chance, that was a super enjoyable day that I will never forget!

VVV

P.S. That same day I had the opportunity to meet George Allen (former Redskins coach) and his son (later governor of Virginia, I believe).

That was quite a day!!

i put earl campbell , barry sims and bo jackson all in the same class.

i wish bo would have played 10 or 12 years in the nfl. might have been the best ever had he done that.
