Gang, Just wanted to pass on a bit of information.

-Watch out with laying Big pts on the road with the better Conf teams playing the bottom halfs of the Conf. Just like in the NFL where the top teams have already clinched the Division or a playoff spot, the same may be true for the Top Conf teams who have secured the Conf crown or Top seeds or any seed in that matter. It seems that they will rest their star players alot and give the backups a chance to get experience. The starters will play, but probably for the first half and then sporatically in the second if at all. This could allow for a backdoor cover. But because the Top team has nothing to play for and a win or loss wont do anything but change the records. You have take a look at the home team who is a bit more motivated to end their season with an upset. Be careful.

-Next thing to be aware of is the last home game being played. Yesterday I posted in my thread all the home teams who were playing their last home games and sure enough the majority won and or covered the spread as well. Teams get up for this one as they want to send their Seniors out with a win. Also the fans will be up as they want to support their teams in their last game. Most times then not, the game has festivities to say Goodbye to the Seniors, so you know everyone wants to go out on a winning note. Something to consider.

-Top vs Top or Top vs upper Middle Teams. Ok usually at this time of year, when the seedings are more than set. You have games with these type still needing to be played. Most often the outcome wont matter, but this type of games more so is for pride and bragging rights. It could prove profitable for you if you pay attention to the winner of this one, as when tourney time comes around, expect the loser to play with a bit of revenge on their minds, and do not expect the winner to not be alittle over confident based on their last win they got at seasons end. Something to remember.

-The Revenge Factor, I like to use this during the course of the season and it payed off for me quite nicely. But, during this time of the year, the Revenge Factor may not play out for certain games and teams, as some just dont give shit any more. Still, I do look at the Revenge Factor when these things exist for the teams playing in seasons end. One, they are Rival schools. Two, they are both ranked. Three they are both the Top Conf teams. Four, they are playing their last home game. Five, they are from the same state. Again, something to think about.

Well, I just thought I share some things that I consider when capping games out. I am sure I probably missed some things, as this was just a spur of the moment thing I just wanted to put out. Please feel free to add on to this list or to my above comments. Contradictions are welcomed, as well as agreements. This is a good way to start to share information with each other, so lets continue to do this. Anyone else have more to share? Please do. Aloha CC.

Ok, two additions to the list.

-Think twice about laying more than 4pts on a bad team playing another bad team , even if they are at home. Fvck Evansville.

-Also I do remember another one. Watch out from just taking a really poor home team getting pts from a equally poor conf road team, who is laying small pts. Did this, and thought it was a good thing. I lost with Fl Int getting 3pts from their bottom dwelling brother S Fl, who by the way blew them out.

co captain,

If you remember I posted a thread about a week ago about bubble teams (teams with some form of postseason aspirations) playing at home vs ranked opponent. I brought up the opening line for ranked fav on road of 3 always coming in on Home dog. Case in point: Northern Iowa su over SIU tonight.

Kojak,

Great, the Northern Iowa play fits into three of the catergories I listed above.
-the last home game.
-the pride factor between Top vs middle Top teams.
-the Revenge Factor.

Yours and all these equated to a Winner with Northern Iowa.

*Perfect example of using different angles and situations to strengthen your selections. Sometimes numbers, trends, and records, cant tell the whole story.

Much better thread than more recent threads with excessive bickering.

Wisconsin Badgers Red vs White scrimmage is Friday, October 14th. Free to the public, interactive skills competition, and slam dunk competition. First game is Nov 5th vs Div 3 UW-River Falls. If you can find a line on this game, take the Badgers.:lolBIG:

Does anybody know a statistics program like Collegio for football that can be used for handicapping NCAAB?

Having all the info on the PC makes it much easier than scooting between websites on a daily basis..

Cheers,

~S
