ok i am still stumped. I originally thought Bernard had the edge because of his experience and right before i saw your post, our local comcast channel was also showing a short preview of the fight. Taylor looked way too timid and spent alot of time adulating hopkins. On switching over to the HBO preview, it turned out that Taylor's natural disposition is the timid wuss who rips people's heads off
regularly...

I also caught those Fox sports programs that cover the lives of top athletes and this week the did Hopkins. Very impressive stuff (i am a some what of an amateur boxing fan). I saw how Roy Jones "handled" Hopkins fresh off his olympics win and taylor is coming off a similar kind of record (as roy jones)

Should i go with ole man Hopkins or the timid youthful fighter???

I am strongly biased towards hopkins (which normally spells doom for the horse i am backing)

Ps....Hopkins goes into this fight with a goal of "beating" taylor's manager by proxy, could this be the inspiration hopkins needs to beat this kid?

Good post redpimp

Interesting comment about Taylor being youthful and timid. But then again Mike Tyson seemed timid as a youngster too.

Roy and Hopkins were relatively green at that stage. Neither had really fought anyone to good and both had around the same amount of fights. That being said, Taylor is no Jones. Not in any way, shape or form. I am not saying taylor can't win but the odds are to low IMO.

BTW- I am the opposite of you, I dislike Hopkins immensely and am a Taylor fan. I see to many things hopkins can take advantage of though. believe me, Hopkins see's them as well which is why he asked for this fight. Can he actually capitalize on Taylor's technical deficiencies? That will decide the fight (i think yes), but Taylor is a pretty big test.

Made up my mind on what i am gonna lose on this fight tonight. 1300 is what i am prepared to lose. BUt this is the great big bone head idea i plan on using to lose my hard earned loot.

laying 1000 on hopkins by ko/tko/dq to win 2600
laying 300 on taylor by ko/tko/dq to win 1140 (yes thats a hedge)

And i hope this does not go all 12 rounds or else i am toast!

and 200 on a draw to win 3600...

have fun all.

I could still put another hedge on the over 12 rounds but that would be way to cowardly. I might as well quit gambling if i did that.

I will stand by that and let it be and pray for a hopkins knockout, which would be the only way for me to make some nice change.... Its been a while since i gave my favorite charity some money....I am sure those girls are wondering where their fav tip drill is!!!!
