Theoretically, yes. Realistically, no. But of the two matchups, I would have to say that Marquez is most vulnerable simply because he has been taken out on 3 occasions earlier in his career, yet not very long ago.

Margarito should be able to at least go the distance with Kyvelos if he does not get the KO. I have never seen Kyvelos in action, so unless he is an excellent boxer, I do not see him even getting the decision.

Good Luck!

Kyvelos will have to box pefectly to make the distance. He's not that hard to hurt or drop and Margarito is the hardest puncher he ever fought.

good points by bf and valdosta....

from what i know, frissina is a very tough guy....not particularly skilled.....not a particularly "big" puncher...an aggressive guy,though....i`ll be a little shocked to see him come right at marquez....hard to figure what he`s gonna do...

if he`s aggressive tonight, that may be bad for him....because marquez has turned into a very, very good counter puncher.....

he`s an excellent boxer/puncher with one punch k.o. power....ask tim austin and too sharp johnson...

but,his chin can be had..there`s always the chance that frissina can land the big shot..i doubt frissina can do it...when i saw him he was wide with his shots...that won`t be a good thing vs marquez...

if marquez` chin wasn`t suspect,he`d be one of the best fighters around....talented...so is his brother...

frissina`s competition has been borderline...he received a gift decision vs jorge lacierva(who is a very tough guy)....

i read where danny romero`s father(romero and frissina were scheduled at least once...maybe twice and never came about) said that frissina doesn`t take a good shot....he really hasn`t fought guys with marquez power,either....

marquez appears to be a level above frissina...and could be heading into top 10 or 15 pfp territory, depending on his competition in his next several fights....some think he`s already there...he gets better with each fight..
..

still, could be a good action packed bout...

margarito took all 3 of his losses early in his career as a teenager.....has gotten stronger....but in his case, unlike marquez, the competition has been relatively weak.....

typical mexican fighter....lots of hooks...winging punches from all angles.....very busy..very offensive....used to look like a big gangly spider...narrow shouldered,if my memory serves me....margarito-mayorga would be a beautywhile it lasted....

still, until he beats a real top guy(six heads-no chin doesn`t count),i`m not sure....particularly moving up into a talent laden jr middleweight division...

these are 2 interesting fights....against guys that may not win,but shouln`t be walkovers...

i really want to see how these two have progressed....

the odds are way to high for me(as they are...i do have them in a parlay with something else)........and the o/u`s are a crap shoot....

could be competitive....i really don`t see an upset,though...margarito is the wildcard...i don`t think kyvelos is a big puncher....he may be a better pure boxer than margarito,though...

kyvelos and margarito haven`t actually stepped up and fought any real top guys...not sure ...

g.l.,guys...

I have been using the over 8 1/2 rds in the Margarito bout and offsetting/hedging it with Margarito to win in rds 1-9, and in some cases rds 1-12.

One may also get lucky if they take the over 8 1/2 rds along with a Margarito inside the distance or Margarito to win in rds 1-12. If Margarito KOs Kyvelos in rds 9,10,11, or 12, both bets could be winners. And if both don't result in winners, there should be a breakeven.

The reason this is at all possible is because the line is so low for the over 8 1/2 rds. It started out at -115, and is now -135 or -140.

The best thing about those strategies is that one only has to worry about Margarito being stopped or injuring himself. Not much else. If it goes to the scorecards, Margarito does not have to win the bout.

If Margarito stops his opponent tonight between 8 1/2 - 12 rds, I will hit the jackpot.

WSEX has really good lines for this bout. Best line for Margarito to win the bout is at Piny.

I have seen Frissina fight a couple of times. The last time was on the Mayorga vs Forret II undercard in the IBF eliminator. He is exactly like you said. Not that skilled but kind of like a little Mickey Ward. In his last fight he knocked the Columbian guy down 3 times in the first round and almost lost the fight by decision. He dosent have much of a chance.

What was Olympic thinking... they opened with the following weak line...

Rafael Marquez
Peter Frissina

Over 7.5 -210
Under 7.5 +170

Easy money $$$

That was just brutal. HBO should be embarassed. Not one decent fight. Anyone know the details for Hopkins-Jones II. Is it really on or am I dreaming? What will be the odds on that one?

Thanks

I feel embaressed for HBO. That was horrible.
You must of seen the line for that fight on Olympic. Olympic posts lines for fights that never materialize. Neither Boxingtalk nor Fightnews have said that fights a go. That means its probably just a wet dream.

hopkins+240....jones-300....at oly....been there for almost a week....

i thought that marquez did a workmanlike demolition on a limited guy....that`s what real champs do.....marquez will be a tough guy to beat.....i love the guy....gave me one of my biggest paydays ever when he whacked austin(a whisker away from a loss....but marquez has heart)....a technician with real power....the chin is the achilles heel....i think i enjoy watching the 2 marquez` as much as any guys in boxing...beautiful...

margarito?......somebody should do whatever it takes to get him and mayorga in the ring....

i`d pay to see that one....it would be very short...but a classic...
