For those that don't know, I only bet on Hawaii basketball because I stink at sports betting in general. My only saving grace is that I've been pretty good at playing Hawaii basketball games. I grew up in the islands and have been following Hawaii hoops for the good part of my life.
This Hawaii team has over achieved thus far. They've been through the firing of their head coach and assistant coach not to mention the departure of their best player from a year ago, Isaac Fotu. All of this took place within the last two weeks. Fotu would have been a junior, but because he was under NCAA investigation, he decided to turn pro in Spain.
This leaves a very inexperienced squad. The only holdover is Nevels, who is the only senior player that gets any significant playing time. The rest of the team is talented, but raw and young. Yes, they are 2-0 and blew out Bakersfield by 30 points, but I feel the inexperience will catch up to them tonight.
The season is young, so I'm still getting a feel for this Hawaii team. Having said that, I'm taking the points and taking Highpoint +3 for 3 units (1 unit = $100).
