As long as Charlie makes a commitment to running the ball, ND should really wear down the Hawaii D. I like ND to cover, Hawaii hasn't faced this big of an O-line in the WAC

While that may be true. ND's d hasn't faced a pass offense even close to Hawaii.

ND has played some bad teams. Hawaii played a team in Fresno that runs it better than ND. Clausen as usual will make a critical turnover that will cost the Irish.

I like UH, but not a strong play. I will just back and watch and pull for UH.

If you believe in motivation being the key in close bowl game match-ups, you have to give the edge to the worthless Irish. This game has to mean more to them than it does Hawaii-playing a bowl game-at home. What fun is that?

Maybe 5 years ago, part of ND being as bad as they are is they no longer get everyones best shot. These kids playing tomorrow are 18-22 years old, for their football watching life over the last 9-12 years, Notre Dame has been pretty bad. Hawaii gets no bonus points for beating ND at home.

What?

Are you for real? You don't think these kids don't see Notre Dick on NBC every Saturday. (Yes, Hawaii gets to see them on the TV while they are sitting around in the hotel waiting to go to the stadium for their game).

I know Hawaii is not on the mainland, but they don't live under a rock. Like everyone hasn't been up for Nebraska, FSU and Miami while they have been down?

The Irish were in a BCS game 2005 and 2006, hawaiii didn't get coverage of that game out there?

I like ND for some reason, but I have absolutely no idea why. I'm not playing this game unless someone can really convince me one way or another.

ND sucks on the road, but Hawaii is terrible and their passing O isn't that great. Just looking at where Hawaii ranks with ND's other opponents they should win, but again it's in Hawaii and those kids will be soaking up the sun for a week like most.

Hawaii wins and covers. EDIT - ND is favored? HA!

Hawaii is playing a home game here. They're tough at home. They should have beat Cincinnati. Their only other loss at home was on a game winning field goal to a solid SJSU team which Hawaii turned the ball over 6 times. -6 turnover differential, and only lost by 3!

ND can't beat anyone decent, let alone go into Hawaii and come out with a win. And hello, this is a bowl game! ND can't win bowl games, how many times does this have to be proven?

Spare me the "talent disparity" comments. I mean really, ND has talent? How many people are they going to get drafted in April? Where was the talent against Syracuse? Against SDSU? Stanford? These are horrible teams (OK, Stanford is average) that they're losing to or keeping the game way to close, at home.

I'm going to enjoy watching ND look confused as they go down in yet another bowl game. To hell with ND! Go Rainbow Warriors!

First off, let me kill the misconception that Hawaii has a solid passing offense. When June Jones, Colt Brennan, and the whole corp of receivers left, so did the high powered offense everyone remembers from the last few years.

BUT.

And here's the meat and potatoes. Hawaii plays tough at home. Combine that with a bunch of teenagers here from the mainland who have never been in paradise before, soaking up the rays and enjoying their vacations...

That has always been an issue for teams playing here, and it always will...

This is coming from a guy who has watched every UH home game this season.
(Sadly)

Take this advice.

Play the over, or dont play it at all.

Notre Dame WILL score.

Hawaii WILL score.

Not to mention there will be a shit load of turnovers, which will lead to more scores.

Trust.

i think hawaii will win the game not really sure on the total seems about right to me, not sure if i trust them enough to take them though, i saw 2 of their games and they were littered with dumb penalties and mistakes left and right.

Because Weis was spared from banishment at his alma matter and has been holding extra practices in preparation for this game, I like the Irish to cover as they simply have more to prove and will be more focused on the outcome.... Then again, when it comes to ND, you have to consider throwing logic out the window...

Anyway, BOL and Merry Christmas to all at the Rx.

Wasn't this the argument before the seasons started.

Hawaii will be sky high for this game as far as motivation goes.
It wouldn't matter if ND was 2-9, Hawaii is getting big name ND on their home turf.
I'd love to see another loss for ND

I got Hawaii, they just have all the intangibles with home field, motivation, and they don't suck as bad as NotreDame.

I wouldn't exactly call a 4-2 record against division 1 teams being tough at home. Their wins have come against teams with combined records of 18-31.

Good logic but I think this game turns the whole Notre Dame program around. They have no place to go but up. They win by at least 10 today and Weis gets the team going in the right direction.
