Vegas has their total wins set at 11 (+130) for the Over. What is up with that? This team has acheived 12+ wins in the last 4 +seasons last time I checked. Each season they have let decent players go due to cap issues, had key players retire, placed rookies in key positions (left tackle), dealt with key injuries (never Manning of course - otherwise they'd screwed).

Their division has definitely turned it up a notch, and they have to take on SD, NE, and Pitt but that positive juice looks quite appetizing!!

Seriously, how can you bet against arguably the best QB and WR tandem of all time, along with a very solid defense. I don't recall them losing anyone this offseason, they should get both Harrison and Freeney back full time, Vinetari couldn't get any worse than he was last season, Gonsalez will be much improved from a solid rookie season in the slot, their rookie left tackle Utoh(???) had a solid rookie season and should excel with more experience, and they brought back insurance at RB (forget his name)

This looks too easy. Why didn't vegas post 11.5? This gives you a chance to push at 11 wins if they fall off a bit and lose a game or two more than expected. Something just doesn't seem right.

I am a believer that vegas sets us up with suck bets all the time. Is this the one? :think2:

Be careful here. Colts were beaten alot with the injury bug and seem to be alittle long in the tooth. Texans defense is silently becoming one solid hard hitting squad, Jags and titans have always left them with a limp or two.

All those injuries they had last year should clue you in on the fact that their age is indeed becoming a factor.

Becareful with that bet. There is a good chance they dont win the division this year.

Personally I think Harrison never gets back to form so I wouldn't put too much in the Manning to Harrision hook up. Manning is older getting up there in years, although he can certainly get the job done, as you age you get mroe injury prone.

Jacksonville has been breathing down the Colt's neck for years now and could challenge. 11 wins seems about right. Either way you look at it, 11-5 is still a successful season. Look at all of the talent the Chargers have and they finished at 11-5 last year. The Colts winning 12+ this season is far from a gimme.

If Harrison has what was "leaked" last year about his knee, he will never get back. I have the same problem, and while I am no pro athlete, there is still no cure for missing articular cartilage behind the kneecap. I still hear he is having problems. This is very similar to what ended Domanick Davis' career.

yea i think harrison is not going to fully recover either

but addai is young has been looking good and improving fast he can carry more of the load

also expecting wayne to take over majority of the air game instead of harrison.. he was doing it all these years but think its time to pass it on.... but in general if wayne went to any other team he most likely would be a #1 reciever but paired with harrison almost everyone is going to be #2 on the colts

think they will still get around 12+ wins again this year

Think they find a way once again to get to 12-4. An interesting stat here is that every starter on both sides of the ball have NEVER played a single down for another team. Colts go 12-4!

I think they are still easily the best team in their division, but there's a better chance they do under the total here. They play in arguably the toughest division in football where all teams are legitimate playoff contenders, so 2-3 losses in the division is to be expected. Then they have to play @ Pittsburgh, @ San Diego, @ Minnesota, @ Cleveland and vs New England. Going 3-2 in those games would be amazing, and really the best they can expect. So there's 4-5 losses with games against Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Baltimore and @ Green Bay remaining. They should win all of those, but if they slip up once they are likely going under the number and looking at a 10-6 season.

Good luck with your play though.

Whenever you have the greatest quarterback in the history of the game, you will always be in the thick of things no matter what else happens

Hell they won the SB with the worse run defense in NFL history.

had a shot at it last year with Harrison gone and Freeney gone for the season. Coming off the retirement of their left tackle that has protected Peyton's blind side since he first came into the league

the D stepped up big in the playoffs. totally shutdown LJ in that wild card game where manning had like 4 picks, and continued to play well through the SB... calling it the worst run defense in NFL history.. :lolBIG: :nohead:

Some good info here....

Gotta agree with the last poster, Indys D played very well in the playoff run of '06 against KC, Balt, NE and then Chi (4 pretty challenged offenses at the time, but still you can only beat who you play)

Colts basically didn't have 3 of their top 5 players from the previous year last year and still reeled off 13 wins easily (TGlenn, Freeney, Harrison), not to mention lost like 4-5 starters on D. This team is definitely built to last for another 2-3 years (the duration of PMannings prime), however, that schedule is pretty brutal and their divisional opponents are pretty well run teams that have been chasing them a while, gotta think they will be caught eventually.

It'll definitely be interesting to see what they do....
