Has anyone seen a mistake like this on Yahoo Sports?

I had taken Phoenix -9 on Thursday against Cleveland and when I looked at the scores on Yahoo Sports the next day I was happy to see I won, but then I saw it was graded as a push. I complained but they insisted so I checked it out on CBS and nba.com and it turns out they were right and Yahoo was wrong.

I've seen the odd typo here and there but to goof this up requires goofing up a lot of things that have to add up like the individual player stats etc. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? I know I haven't.

Darryl- Yahoo is a jagoff sports site; period. You've got a better shot reading the Hooterville Daily Tribune if you want accurate information. ESPN makes tons of mistakes also. A perfect example is the Ottawa- NY Islanders hockey game tonight. When you pull up the hockey scores, they have the 1st period as 1-0 for Ottawa. Incorrect. It was 1-1 at the end of the 1st period. When you click on the box score the Islander goal is listed in the 1st period but the line score has it 1-0 for Ottawa. They put the Islander goal in the 2nd period giving them four goals in the 2nd period when they actually scored one in the 1st period and three in the 2nd period.

Now if a guy bet the 1st period and he checks the score, the first thing he sees is Ottawa up 1-0 but it's really 1-1. Many books take 1st period bets so what looks at first glance like Ottawa and under is actually a push on the side and over on the total. Huge difference.

What is most annoying is when you try to bring it to a sites attention and they don't correct it or wait far too long to correct a mistake. There's no excuse for that. My favorite site for soccer scores, livescore.com normally does a decent job but they have an annoying habit of having the wrong minute when they post a goal. Earlier this season in the English Premier League when Portsmouth visited Arsenal, they posted a Portsmouth goal as the 28th minute when it was officially in the 27th minute. That's big because the "time of first goal" prop was up to and including the 27th minute. I checked a "gamecast" on another site and the goal was at 26 minutes and 43 seconds which makes it officially a 27th minute goal. I e-mailed livescore.com and they responded by saying they would research it and correct it if necessary. It was not corrected. Kind of like NFL officiating. they reviewed it and still got it wrong.

I have had the same problems with CBS but I continue to use them because I still feel they are the best.

I had a prop the Islanders to beat Ottawa by 3 goals. So I waited the whole game and Islanders get ahead by 2 with around 4 minutes to go in the game. Ottawa pulls the goalie and with 5 seconds left the Islander guy lets his shot go from the blueline and it lands in the net with around a second to go. The announcer calls it a goal. I went back to the check if they listed it as 6-3 and the broadcast ended it at 5-3, so I started to get nervous.

I than went onto CBS and they had it 6-3 0 secs left and so did ESPN. NHL.COM had it at 5-3 but were just late on putting it up and it ended 6-3.

You have to check 3 sites to be certain you have the correct information.

you never grade your wager by what espn says and actually login to your book site each time.

Have seen it not only on Yahoo...including the instance mentioned...but also on the sports score "ticker" on CNN Headline News.
