I finally convinced the misses to drop our $55.00 a month home phone and just go with our cell phones and I must admit I don't miss the home phone at all. It takes a little getting used to but It's working out fine with each of us using just having our cell phones. Just curious if anyone else has gone this route.

Yes, it's a good thing except for a few pockets of bad reception.
My wife has a cell, I have one also.
No land lines here.

Me and the girlfriend both have our cell phones. I have not had a "home" phone since 2002, maybe 2001. I know very few people that have land lines.

Man people are slow in these parts to dump their home phones. I must have asked 20 people over the last few days and found only one besides myself that dumped the home phone. I agree I should have done it years ago. Well time to go play my Atari 2600, talk to you guys later.

First off, all the best for your MA.

Dropped my landline about 7 years ago........but preparing to go back to it shortly.

These cellphones are giving me headaches and unneeded radiation.

So thats what makes my computers speakers make that strange noise whenever the cell phone is near them:think2:

I am the first to admit that I do not use my home phone often, but once a year it may happen that my broadband internet connection does not work and then I can still use the dialup. Also for some reason I still enjoy the idea of being able to just provide my home phone no. to some people, so I can at least have some privacy on my mobile.

i have the skype in service which gives me a regular number - so I can use that if I dont want to sit on the mobile for a long period of time.

I hook a regular phone into that.

its like $60 a year.

other than that mobile for texting and short phone calls.

Yes, Harrington, we do not have a land line either...and for the record i am the only one in the area (besides you, now) who do this. People look at me like i am crazy.

I have not had a land line in over 3 years - only thing that sucks is that I have to go to my buddies to send and receive faxes.

For a extra $10 on my Comcast bill I get a landline with free long distance, and 6 Starz channels. . No brainer here, since i can downgrade my minutes on cell phone and pay about $20 less. Plus I can fax if needed .I make money on the deal with more entertainment. :103631605
