Illinois is too talented to keep up these awful showings on the road. Illinois owns nine consecutive wins over Northwestern as Bruce Weber’s crew has figured out how to slow down the Wildcats’ Princeton attack. In the Illini’s last seven wins over NU, they’ve allowed just 44.3 points per game and won by an average of 19.9 points. They are just so much more talented than the wildcats.
The Wildcats' lack of rebounding will not be an advantage for ILL but it wont hurt them like it usually does on the road. Their big men arent the big, strong , banging on the inside type. Davis and Tisdale both can step outside, which will help against NU's zone
Hopefully Illinois can finally hit some shots on the road against NU's 1-3-1. They are taller, more athletic and skilled, I think that prevails in this one.
Its time for Illinois to step up, and i think it finally happens on the road tonight.
