*John Elway--hit over .300 in Florida State League as an outfielder. .324, if I remember correctly, for Ft. Lauderdale.

*Tom Brookshier-- 7-1 for Roswell in 1954.
*John Lynch--threw first pitch ever for Florida Marlins in a Spring Training game.

*Dale Hackbart and Dean Look- Look up with ChiSox for a "cup of coffee" in 1961.
*Gene Conley, Dave Debusschere, Dave Ricketts and Danny Ainge--well known.
*Neil Johston--pitched three seasons.
*Bill Sharman--5 years in Dodgers system.
*N.Y. Knicks' Carl Braun and Harry Galatin.
*Rochester Royals guard Bobby Davies played as Bob Davis.

*Ron Shelton--wrote "Bull Durham" and many other films--parts of 6 seasons in Baltimore organization.
*Eliot Asinoff--wrote "Eight Men Out"--2 seasons in the 40's.

*Wrestler Randy Savage--Cardinals organization under real name Randy Poffo.
*Rocky Marciano--didn't actually play but had a tryout as catcher with Chicago Cubs.

*Mario Cuomo--hit .244 for Brunswick in the Georgia-Florida League.

Danny Ainge made it to the big leauges, I think he was the opening day starter for the BLuejays. Americans dont want there heros to be short and white, although Danny was 6'5 he looked short on the court. But he was a hero of mine becasue he was the best athlete in the nba.
