DAm,,,, LOL,,,, I was just reviewing some of my Bet selection,,and I just relaized I havent Lost 1 of my NBA Groupings in 30 DAM DAYS!!! does that qualify for some Record??? LOL,,,,,

and as I mentioned in my thread several times,,, as I analyzed the Games ahead of time,,,, the next 17 days look to be a good set for us to continue,,,,

I know a Loss is coming,,,, I just think its a funny observation,,,,,

so Bet within your Means,,,a nd Get your BEST LINE!!

Roxy's right, Tate. I made the statement a couple days ago in my thread that I had had 10 straight non-losing nights - I proceded to immediately lose my next 6 games!! It appears the gambling Gods prefer humility over conceit when choosing who to endow with their good fortune. Here's to wishing you a better fate.

You have to go in the thread to get his picks, so who cares what the title says.
Let's take it from a marketing point of view; he puts the most appetizing statement in the TITLE so people will read his thread. When they read his thread, they will understand that he hasn't lost a GROUPING in 30 days. If one is an optomist, one would appreciate this type of TITLE because it gets you into a thread with a winning formula.

I dont bash, its not my thing but doesnt this board have a monitor to stop this type of hype? losing a bet and doubling down to cover it is a loss. Good records are enough and you have many fans just post your real record and collect the cash.

and 10% Just keep Posting year after year Tweeking my angle

and 89% Probably never post again after the Season,,,

Steam, I agree with you and understand, but I think it is just a motivational boost. Everyone wants to be the best. It is not a crime, it's human nature.
Plus, you said that "a newbie", well a newbie doesn't know his record or anything about his system, unless he goes into his thread. The rest of us that know what he is doing will go into his thread even if he said,
"TATERS NOT TO SURE IF THESE PLAYS WILL WIN, PLAYS OF THE DAY"

While we are on the subject of false (or misleading) statistics, I have a question for both you and Tater. Please don't take this the wrong way, I am simply asking to learn. If anyone else has an explanation, please feel free to comment.

QUESTION IS:

Do you guys not think that placing units beside picks is not misleading and/or inflating of records?

Let me explain what I mean.
I know there are different ratings for picks. Those we love, we up the units (eg. 9 unit plays). Those we only like we play for less units (eg 1 unit plays).
But at the end of the day (steam), when you make +50 UNITS!!! it looks incredible and it is, BUT........
Someone like me who has made +73.6 units in 254 GAMES,
with an overall winning % of 60%
with a 2 unit winning % of 70%
I only made 20 some odd units more then your one day.
This is misleading and I will tell you why. If I up my units from
1 unit plays to 3 unit plays
2 unit plays to 6 unit plays
4 unit plays to 12 unit plays
I would be up A HELL OF AN AMOUNT OF UNITS!!!
Better yet, I will just leave everything the same, but up my 2 unit plays to 50 UNITS.
Now instead of being up 73.6 units( @ $100/ unit)
I am up 1225.6 UNITS, at $100 per unit

I have made $122,560.00

What do you guys think?

My point is,
we should only have win/lose records. If you really believe you like a game
9 times more then your other games, then any professional capper will tell you that if you want to make money in the long run, you bet quality not quantity.
What is your record for all individual unit plays?
Like I have my record for 1 unit, and 2 unit, and 4 unit plays.
My system to this point makes sence because I have a higher winning percentage for 2 unit plays then 1 unit plays right now. My 4 unit plays is still lower, but hitting 60%.
Do yours in this way and see. This could help you. If you see a higher percentage for more unit plays, GREAT!

I have 8.
I guess I should tell all my followers that my game 1 plays are 5 units and my game 2 plays are 10 units( and get Jack of Hearts to start posting this way).
Now I have 40 units at risk. Now we're talking!!!! Or are we?

Take a look at the Brian Mac thread in the rubber room. If you read my last post you will see that in the last 17 days he has risked 73,000+ dollars on 159 plays.
I have been posting his plays for the last 2 1/2 weeks and used 110 a unit to track his tally. Over the long haul you can't play like this. I agree you need quality not quantity. The juice alone makes it that much more of an uphill battle. You leave yourself wide open to serious losses playing like this. As steam maker did 2 days ago you can have a 54 or more unit day, but if you go bad, it can go real baaad.

I have to agree with Gamblin1 on this, doubling down on a losing bet and then finally winning on the team, doesnt make you not have a losing bet.
Bill gates should just start gambling with his money, hes got so much money he could double down for a very long time and would never have a losing record.
Also titles of this thread have nothing but am gonna be a tout soon written all over them. Is that the dream of everybody all over the internet boards, to become a scumbag tout? Sorry but i just dont get it.

Here is a good answer for some:
For example, Steam might be betting $10 per unit. Then I can understand how a 9 unit bet makes sence. He would only be risking $90 on a 9 unit bet. But he should be saying that. I'm not sure if he ever said how much one unit is for him?

What I think is most people who follow our picks are being falsely lead to believe that a 9 unit bet is INCREDIBLE STRONG!
I know this feeling because I was one of those people when I started a few years ago. This is the reason I have stated several times that my unit size is $30 per unit. Now, since I have built up my bank I have raised my unit to $50 per unit. So if anyone wonders how strong my plays are, they would know the most I have risked on my system picks is 4 units, equal to $200.
If you are known to have a great record, people will follow and use your picks, but there are many gamblers out there that will bet over there heads because they are in the hole and they want the quick out. Well, telling this type of gambler that you just won 50 units in one night will have him or her jumping all over your picks. Then you have a losing night and you lose 30 units and the poor sole who thought your plays are so strong ends up losing 30 units in one night.
If he would have only known that you bet $10 per unit, he would not be risking his life savings on a night of betting. I know we are not forcing anyone to bet large amounts, but we are certainly motivating them to do it.

Think about it Steam, if you are risking 70 units tonight, you need to say how much a unit size is because it makes a world of difference to the strength of the play, especially to your loyal followers.

I am just trying to be helpful.

Well put Tater.

Let me put it in golf terminology.
If I have a ten foot putt and get 3 chances at making it, I probably will drain it 95% of the time.
The first putt (game#1), I read the green and make a smooth stroke. If I miss, then, the second put (game#2), I compensate for my misread and putt again. Now according to my tracking (by Jack of Hearts), I make the putt 70% of the time. If I miss I drain it on the third try, but usually doesn't come to that. After all, I'm not perfect. I have missed three putts in a row 8 times out of 157 tries.
I think I need to go practice.

2 units is equal to 1 % br
3 units = 1.5 % br


and so on.

It's all relative - a 9 unit play [BOLD]is [bold] strong compared to a 1 unit bet. What differnce does it make what your bankroll is? If Bill Gates plays everything for 1 unit but his unit is a million dollars, does that make his play stronger because it's more than we make in a year?

I think it's people's own responsibility to check the history of whoever is posting. In Steam's case he plays many units but he also points that out some are for action or to set up middles not strictly wins/losses. For newbies or desperate people it is a tough lesson to learn - but necessary - you can't just expect to blindly follow someone else's picks and make money, you need to manage your own bankroll too.

Personally, I like people just listing units, like in your case Mike or on Tate's thread, it's easy to see the 2 units plays hit at a higher % than 1 unit. It doesn't matter if you are risking 10 or 1000 a unit.
