Someone mentioned that GPRS (Internet connection) will only work with the International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI) (i.e. phone) registered with the phone line.

Have you found that not to be true?

even if it was, there was a news report the other day where they showed people modifying the IMEI for 10k colones, the news crew went with hidden cameras , did the entire process and then came back and did the usual "hello ,we are blabla from canal 6, are you in the business of doing this and that?".......answer "umm eh no of course not!"

I've used this number with several different iPhones with no problem connecting to the internet via EDGE. The original phone that the number was registered to (IMEI Number) was a Nokia 1200. So I have not had a problem but with ICE who knows, everyday I go to ICE I learn something new:lolBIG:

Changing IMEI internal numbers is a pretty simple process. Yea, it not legal to do, but its done all the time.
