Wanted to start a thread early this week....


Just wanted to hear everyones thoughts on LSU/WVU game this weekend. what do you expect the line to be?

My sense is that LSU's offense will pound on that 3-3-5 defense. Of course, this keeps things close for a half, but West Virginia's defense is just NOT suited to take that pounding....and it will show in the fourth quarter. The W. Va. qb is a much better passer than Miss. State's qb, but the problem is that LSU has the BEST defensive backfield in the NCAA....and their defensive ends are too fast to run around.

My sense is that LSU-6 in the game will be the best bet, but the LSU second half should be money too. I also like that UNDER 51 as well.

WVU+6...1 unit

this is not a homer pick. i pick against wvu when i need too. last week i thought maryland would beat them, an at the beginning of the season picked they would go 10-2 with losses to maryland and usf....

now i think wvu can stay in the game due to their off. they will spread the ball around gettting it to the play makers....throw in the crowd which will help them, i think wvu has a great shot at the outright win. yes, i agree that lsu wont be bothered by the crowd as they are used to this type of atmosphere. i think lsu takes wvu lightly. i think lsu will have great success running it up the middle, similar to what steven ridley did to us last year. i dont think lsu will be that successful passing the ball against us.

i think the lsu def will totally shut the run game down, forcing wvu to throw the ball even more than probably will be scripted for the game.last year wvu d only gave up 3 off points to lsu...lsu scored the rest off a fumble at the 7, and a punt return from patterson. wvu missed 2 fg last year losing by 6 points.
But if wvu would win...could you see them jumping out to 10-0 with pitt at home and then usf??? i dont....LSU27-WVU24
