Griffin over Sherk

5d opened this at +175, down to +145, still think there is value if hit now, should be sherk slight fav at most. 2u for me, will bet back some if the line drops as i expect.

griffin has had trouble with wrestlers in past, see clay guida and frankie edgar. but he seems to get stronger every time out. better camp. sherk is too one demensional, wont be able to over power griffin and keep him down. i would play griffin even if he was slight fav. think he takes it 60% +.

Sherk is a beast tho , I dunno if I can go against him in this one . He has amazing gas tank and I can see him getting few takedowns and pushing the action .

Sherk will likely look to blanket Tyson on the ground. I think Sherk should be a favorite of about -150. Tyson is much more active and has nice escapes which leads me to believe Sherk will fight a boring fight and use his size to blanket Griffin and take it on the cards. Not sold on Griffin's KO power at all and I can't see Griffin getting the takedown and fighting a boring fight. This one is VERY likely to go to the cards and Sherk has the better wrestling which will likely decide it.

Best bet here is to wait until 5D puts out Sherk by decision IMO.

Out of his 5 wins in UFC 4 have been by decision and a TKO win over Radach 6 years ago .

you guys may be right on this one, definitely dont like both you guys being on the otherside.

but, sherk does appear to be a one trick pony, and griffin's standup impressed me his last time out when i thought aurelio could control the fight with his grappling.

i just really feel like griffin gets better every time out, whereas sherk may have peaked. we havnt seen alot of sherk over the last 2 years, but franca was able to land big knees on him and bj completely controlled the fight on the feet. now i know that griffin doesnt have the reach that bj does, but i dont think sherk can keep griffin down either. i think this should be much closer to a pick and i made my play thinking i could bet back some of it and get a better price, but that doesnt appear like it is going to be the case.

anyway, still think im on the right side.

Nobody is getting KOed in this one and 99 % likely not subbed either so this will sure come down to who can get more takedowns and control his opponents on the ground . Gotta give the edge to Sherk here IMO , I believe he will grind out a decision win but I might be wrong . Griffin is still improving so dont know what he can bring to the table in this fight .

I like Sherk here too. As strong a wrestler as Griffin is, I think Sherk is on a higher level.

Grappling wise I have said it over and over again, Sean Sherk has little bitty arms that resembles a T-Rex and a huge neck. How can you arm bar a guy with such little arms and how can you triangle choke or rear naked choke someone with the neck like Sherk’s. In 36 fights no ones has ever submitted Sherk and Griffin is not that great a grappler to even threaten him.
