I dont like it, but I guess I have no choice but to accept it. I am not near the top but was trying to make a late run.......until now.

I am a rules guy and rules are the rules. Like I said, just dont like all the nonsense going on in these contests lately.

I do have a logical question.....

What was the reasoning in setting a 12:55PM post time when posted kickoff time isnt until 1PM?

As long as picks were in prior to the posted kickoff time of 1:00PM(granted most games dont even kick until 1:02 or 1:03).....then they should've counted. I know it wasnt in the rules but it shouldve been 1PM sharp. No questions asked. Setting multiple fantasy lineups, placing bets, watching lines, etc...can be quite hectic every Sunday for me and many others. Just was under the asumption the bets wee good as long as I posted by 1PM being it wasnt being enforced.

SS-- Those sound like great ideas.

sportsavant, you have a tough job running all the contests and i think you do a good job. i took a few shots at you in the trytrytry post about the other contest and i apologize for that. i was getting blasted left and right and my blood pressure was high but, that is no excuse.

just wanted to say that because i feel bad about it now.

:toast: ive been meaning to reply to your thread in the pick6 just havent had a chance yet. Im also a passionate guy, but I am not the type to let the past sour the future. no hard feelings.

Actually this sentence is listed as well in the rules. I wouldnt necc call my plays missed plays since they were before kickoff, but I guess that you will say that they were not posted as instructed

Plays must be posted as instructed, or will be graded NO ACTION.

to be 100% honest, Jman has been running this contest even before I became contest manager here at the RX and it was simply a rule that was carried forward from previous rules. I suppose it was just to allow a few minute safety net. We will likely have to tweak this for the future.

Well I wasnt emailing the picks so people couldnt see the picks here, it was because I wasnt going to be at my computer the next day in time. I couldnt care less about people in this contest seeing my picks, I didnt want some other people seeing who I liked this week since I had bets with them off of the site. They didnt need to be posted 5 minutes early, just maybe 1-2 hours early when I wasnt going to be at home.

That is why I emailed the picks. I will take the 0-4 in week 6, but not in week 10.

If I get 0-8 in both weeks, then no matter HOW I do the rest of the way, I am out of these rx post contests. I have learned my lesson. I sent the emails in those weeks and still managed to get home to post before gametime

You have no say in this, if you posted late you are graded 0-4. Tough shit.

PO69,

a "misposted play" would be a play where someone writes "new york" for example, but doesnt specify wether its the Jets or the Giants. Something to that effect.

Kickoff is meaningless due to the untraceable edit window.

Rules are rules.....

i think the answer can be found in the thread detailing my debacle in the other contest.

lets say you post at 12:59 and in one of the games, the opening kickoff is returned for a touchdown. you would still have time to go back into your thread and change your play.

i am not 100% certain but, if i had to bet i'd say that is the exact reason jman had the deadline as 12:55 instead of 1:00.

BINGO, I think that is what TTinco just said above in his own special way as well.

in the pick 6 it wasnt necessarry coz the deadline was the night before at midnight, with no games starting at midnite.

This is also in the rules, so we can stop going back and forth whenever

-If there is ever a conflict in the rules, the contest Moderator will have to make a judgment call, that judgment call is final

-During the course of the contest, from time to time, the contest moderators will be required to make a judgment call or rule on a situation, their ruling will be final and will not be open for debate.

To everyone, I am so terribly sorry for this. Totally my fault.

PO69, I never received either of your emails. You may have used the wrong one? My working addy is tanya@therx.com if you wish to email your picks in the final two weeks.

Blue, I was wondering why the deadline would be five minutes before gametime, so thanks for the probable theory. Makes sense to me now.

PO69, I'd also advise that if you do email in your picks, that you enter this thread and let us know, just to be safe.

PO, read the f'ing rules.....

"EMAILING of plays will be allowed on the final 2 weeks of the contest, and selections will be posted shortly after 1pm EST kickoff"

Post your plays like everyone else. End of story.
