MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR SEPTEMBER 10TH AND IGNORE ALL GAS STATIONS IF YOU ARE TIRED OF HIGH GAS PRICES AND WANT THE OIL COMPANIES TO KNOW IT!

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE
Sept 10TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM DAY" AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE A S YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THIS ADMINISTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Have never understood the logic with these. Gas (for me anyway) is not some luxury expense like an expensive coffee and that by boycotting starbucks for one day - they'll feel the pinch.

Unless people actually stopped driving for one - the effect would be a nice quiet day for the gas jockeys.

While the sentiment is good it's been tried. What difference will it make if everyone buys gas on the 9th or waits until the 11th. The only way to really hurt the oil companies is to cut back usage EVERY DAY. If we all cut out one trip we make each week that might hurt them.

Over here we pick one single oil company and boycott them.
The others know they could be next so it's nothing for them to cheer about.

The other tactic was to picket refineries. (Lorry drivers)

This stopped even more tax increases on fuel in the UK.

These big oil companies have huge influence with the Government and boycotting one single company is really easy, and really pisses them off.

If you're boycotting the use of Middle Eastern oil then this list may help.
According to the report, seems as tho Sunoco, Sinclair, and Shell purchased no middle eastern oil the 1stH of 2005.
Some of you wacko Pat Robertson fans may want to boycott Citgo, since they are owned by Argentina.
Personally, I think we should all just simply follow the motto "Don't buy gas unless you need it"
Then everything will be just fine..... :toast:
