Hilo ... YOU ARE A TRAITOR!

Give Rove 2 yrs to spread lies and do a makeover job and he could get any of the mentioned a good shot at being the Pope ...

So funny how the Repubs think they are the "Party of Morals" ... hmmm, Watergate and the Iran Contra Scandal head the list of political scandals in the last 30 yrs and both with a Repub as Prsdt? Hmmm, go figure ...

It is so easy to see why Limbaughs followers are referred to as Dittoheads ..

I think his pt is very simple ...

the so-called Image that Rove paints of the Repub Party as being all "Moral" is nothing but smoking guns ...

there are just as many Repubs as Dems that could make a police lineup ..

Saw a post by Burris yesterday that the Dems are the most corrupt bunch of folks in America today ... corruption exsists in both parties and anyone dense enough to believe the Dems have a lock on corruption was also dense enough to believe all the lies Rove spun during the election campaign

Ego:

I dont care if a guy is Republican or Democrat ...

I get real tired of folks screaming someone is Anti-American or a Traitor to this country cause they aint comfortable with what is going on in Iraq ... I see Coulter running her mouth off telling a disabled Vietnam Vet that "it was because of your kind that we lost the war in Vietnam" that is sickening and beyond having a soul

I never spent a day in the service ... I have never trashed our kids ... I saw the crap the Vietnam guys got when they came back and totally disgusting ... that is why when Cheney started trashing Kerry and his military record I realized what Cheney truely stands for ...

Doc Mullah, please post One - ONE - instance where Cheney "started trashing Kerry and his military record".

If you don't mind, I won't be holding my breath while I'm waiting.

I've made it known my thoughts about Ann Coulter.
I was never in the Armed Forces, either. I graduated High School in a relative time of peace (spring '92) and went on to college. I have a lot of respect for Kerry as a man, but not as a politician.
I also believe Bill Clnton was a pretty good President (how dare me :)....I only wish he would've taken a tougher stand against Al Queda and Saddam's total disregard of the UN Resolutions. Maybe if he coud've predicted 9/11 (nobody did), he may have. If there is a bad guy in this war other than the terrorists, it's the UN. They are the most corrupt of the corrupt. More so than ANYONE in Washington DC.

I wish you and everyone in the forum well in the new year.

so many people post all the dirt about the other political party's members being dirtbags and corrupt....the dems are exposing the repubs and the repubs are exposing the dems....

Is there anybody else in here besides me that just forgets party lines and realizes that most, if not all politicians are in it for the power and the money and could give a rats azz about anything other than thier pocketbook and thier retirement fund?

Call me politically cynical, but there are plenty of scandals and corrupt practices to cover the whole flock of politicians.

Enough that I probably elevated lawyers to a slightly higher position than politicians in the ranking of scumbucket careers.

I agree Marco - Here in the Peoples Republic of Taxachusetts, I often find myself voting for the more moderatre or conservative candidate who happens, quite often, to be a Democrat.

However, you have to vote for the party that most closely mirrors your values - and for me. that's the Republicans.

I'd much rather trash the party and it's policies than the person, but sometimes you have to go after the person to prove or defend a position.

Of course, when you're in a free for all, as debates on this forum often tend to be, you reach for any weapons that happen to be handy.

And then there's the haters like Doc Mullah! For me, the best way to fight fire is with fire.

There's my philosophy in a nutshell, and my excuses for ignoring my philosophy.

Cheney received five student and marriage deferments of military service during the Vietnam War..... argued that the four-term Massachusetts senator's voting record on defense and intelligence issues casts doubts on his judgment for commander in chief ... What a crock that is ?

* Cheney wanted the EXACT SAME ITEMS CUT AS SECT OF DEFENSE ... Bush's Hand picked Puppet to head up the CIA - Goss out of Florida - wanted to slash Human Intelligence by 20% in the late 90's

For Cheney to talk in negative light about ANYONE'S service to this country truely defines the word TRAITOR ...

Personally, I can't imagine admiring the courage more of someone who (a) went to Vietnam, (b) saved people's lives there and (c) after experiencing it, had the courage to come back and speak against a war that we all know now was waged based on lies to the American people. (Sound familiar?). It is so rare to see that level of independent thinking in anyone, much less elected officials (although McCain displays it as well, to his credit). Karl Rove's whole "flip-flopping" strategy is just asinine for anyone with half a brain: it shows how desperate the party must be, and how stupid they assume that Americans are. Intelligent people want people who are capable of changing their minds when information and realities change. That's just common horse sense. They really should find something else to talk about -- uh, like Bush's record. If he's such a great president, tell us how. Convince us. If he's good because he's a friend of corporations and the radical right, then talk about that, and let the people decide if that's what they want in the White House. Instead, they're once again trying to pretend they're something they're not

Doc, I see that you can't find an instance where Cheney "trashed Kerry and his military record"; why don't you admit that you were wrong? Or are you just going to call me names as you usually do and ignore your error?

Coulter:

Are you dense enough to believe Bush & CHENEY were not tied into the Smear Campaign vs the Swift Boat Liars ...

Its all sematics ... hell, your side was trying to get everyone to actually believe Kerry was weak on defv when Cheney is just as weak if not weaker based on his flip / floipping scenario and lies regarding Iraq
This is classical .. you are still trying to deny Bush said Iraq was an imminent threat when the White House admitted it in a Press Confc

Saying in life that ya can tell a lot about one's character by the folks they admire ... being you admire Cheney, enough said

Here come the excuses!

Doc - you said, and I quote "that is why when Cheney started trashing Kerry and his military record I realized what Cheney truely stands for"

I've asked for the evidence to support your accusation and you've produced nothing but excuses!

You made a mistake! Are you going to be man enough to admit it, or will you continue to post your little kid excuses?

Politics is equallydirty on all sides I am not trying to say its not. But I do keep hearing about the morals of the Republican party god, church, family values, apple pie etc. This is total bull s. I am not saying Clinton is not a womanizer with a sex addiction. But many of the Repulicans that spoke out about Clinton due to sex had similar problems see Hyde and Barr etc. Several who have spoken out against gays are gay themselves or had homosexual experiences like a Michael Huffington.

Total hypocrites. Due to my fathers business dealings I grew up around old school Jewish and Italian gangsters. I found them to be much more open and honest about who they were and what their business was all about than most politicians. Just look at Gulianni whos pocket is he in?

I guess I could pull a Bush and give that comical "Stump the Chump" look in STL ... who me, a mistake??

Yeah, ya gonna admit the White House said that Iraq was an imminent threat? You claim not BUTTTT ....

The Bush Administration is now saying it never told the public that Iraq was an "imminent" threat, and therefore it should be absolved for overstating the case for war and misleading the American people about Iraq's WM

White House spokesman Scott McClellan lashed out at critics saying "Some in the media have chosen to use the word 'imminent'. Those were not words we used.".... But a closer look at the record shows that McClellan himself and others did use the phrase "imminent threat" – while also using the synonymous phrases "mortal threat," "urgent threat," "immediate threat", "serious and mounting threat", "unique threat," and claiming that Iraq was actively seeking to "strike the United States with weapons of mass destruction" – all just months after Secretary of State Colin Powell admitted that Iraq was "contained" and "threatens not the United States." While Iraq was certainly a dangerous country, the Administration's efforts to claim it never hyped the threat in the lead-up to war is belied by its statements.
"Absolutely."
• White House spokesman Ari Fleischer answering whether Iraq was an "imminent threat," 5/7/03

"This is about an imminent threat."
• White House spokesman Scott McClellan, 2/10/03

"Well, of course he is.”
• White House Communications Director Dan Bartlett responding to the question “is Saddam an imminent threat to U.S. interests, either in that part of the world or to Americans right here at home?”, 1/26/03
