The Celtics have had the third quarter blues in the first two games against the Warriors, having been outscored by a combined 73-38, yet still escaped with a split in Golden State due to the Green’s fourth-quarter heroics in Game 1. If coming out flat after halftime becomes the norm, the Celtics will be known as runners-up in the 2022 NBA Finals.
However, the venue shifts to Boston for Wednesday night’s showdown and we see that the Warriors have a pedestrian 25-23 straight-up road record this season and a 20-26-2 ATS road mark including 2-5 ATS in the playoffs. The 3½ may be a bit tough to lay but the Celtics are deeper and I suspect they will double Steph Curry and let the ailing Klay Thompson try to beat them.
