is a MUST HAVE for College Football and NFL! I have been a Gold Sheet subscriber since 1968. Over the years the majority of my knowledge of CFB has been gleaned from The Gold Sheet. Most of us older guys have come into contact with TGS as either subscibers or word of mouth info. TGS has been published since 1957. The Triple Play is a package of their 3 publications, They are, TGS, CKO(Confidential Kickoff), and TGS Extra( The publication devoted to mainly technical aspect of football) You can order ANY of the publications singlely or ALL 3 which is around $300.00. Also TGS is an advertiser here. Guys, do yourself a HUGE favor and subscribe to at least TGS. It goes without me saying that I would ABSOLUTELY NOT go into a football season without TGS Triple Play! You can order 2 or 3 issues on a free trial basis to see if there is value for you. Please check them out by calling 1 800 798 4653 Tell them the RX sent you. LT:103631605 :money8:

Don't forget about the Gold Sheet Friday Update which is sent via e-mail with the latest update on injuries, starter changes and other valuable information. Believe the Triple Threat is $230 with an additional $50 for the update.

Coach..I do like the Gold Sheet. I don't follow their predictions very much. But it's great for keeping stats and giving us updated injury reports. And the angle plays it has every week can sometimes be dead on target. That's right up my alley since I'm big on angles.

As usual you are dead right on with the stats there. The angle plays from there are sometimes better than good.
As i know you will keep the Conference Cappers well updated, if you spot anything in there that you wish to share with us.
I used to have a subscription to the Gold Sheet when i lived in Oklahoma, dont know why i dont still have? Glad you brought this to our attention!

Coach i know its REAL early but, WHO do you like to win the College Football Champonship at this time? I know you have something lurkeing in the back of that mind! But what is it? lol

BOL to ya !!

Ted, my RX Brother, you are CORRECT, SIR! OBTW, the best part is, for a few dollars more, you can get The Triple Play via fax or online on MONDAY evening! That is HUGE HUGE for the early info. If you get it delivered by mail, the earliest you get it is on thursday. LT:103631605 :money8:

Insiders, I really have not thought so much of who will win the national championship, BUT W Virginia has a great schedule to get there with NO conference championship game. I think Auburn gets to the SEC Champ Game and if they win they might get there. There is a LOT of cheese to be gathered by US before the bowls. College Football, COME ON DOWN! THE GOLD SHEET FRIDAY UPDATE (LATE BREAKING INJURIES AND SUSPENSIONS, SOME OF WHICH ARE NOT PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE) IS INDESPENSIBLE, ITS ABOUT 1000X MORE VALUABLE THAN THE GOLD SHEET ITSELF, WHICH IS AN INTERESTING READ, BUT THE PICKS ARE ATROCIOUS.

Gs Extra

I love the Gold Sheet Extra Pub.
They had this little bit of info in there this year:

But if one thing has remained fairly constant for the past 30
years, it has been the success of the biggest bowl underdogs dogs,
those getting 7 points or more. Such dogs were on the plus side
again last season when they recorded a 5-2 spread mark. Since
1974, bowl dogs getting 7 points or more are a solid 102-67 (60.4%)
against the number.

Would have been a perfect 12-0 this bowl season if Louisville did
not have the 4th qtr. collapse against VaTech. Didn't watch the game,
but didn't the VaTech quarterback start kicking everybody in the stomach or something like that?
(16-3 past 2 years not too bad though.)

Yes WV does seem to have a much easier road this year than most if not ALL of the others. But do you really think that WV is a legitimate #1 team, with that schedule? You know that if there is LOTS of teams with one loss which there very easily could be, the strength of schedule will surely come into play for the BCS.

I have NEVER made a future play on who the national champ will be so I don't really follow it that much in the preseason. That said, I did look a little after your question. It seems that the 2 teams that have the easiest schedule to get there is WV and F$U. Admittedly if they have ONE loss they are done due to their schedule. Check out the ESPN Top 25 thread. It is a HOOT near the end. LT:103631605

I used to be a subscriber to Steele's Power Sweep, but thanks to Coach I switched to the Gold Sheet's Triple Play last year. I had a great season last year thanks to the switch.

Hey Coach,
Hope you are having a great off-season. Enjoying the links? Getting that handicap lower (to where it should be)?

I love the topic. I have been a Power Sweep subscriber for years, and I was wondering if you could give me a reason to switch to TGS? Is there really any difference b/t the two? Both appear to give you the same info with a slightly different spin. So is it just preference?

I appreciate your (and any one elses') opinion on this.

Muffinman, I have not played golf since Super Bowl 3 sunday on Jan 12. 1968 :lolBIG: Thanks for asking.
I LOVE The Gold Sheet Triple Play more than Power Sweep and I do take both as well as Mark Lawrence's Playbook. The GSTT has much more raw info than the other 2. The ONE thing I really love about Power Sweep is the section called"Misleading Finals, Frontdoor and Backdoor Covers" The whole front page of PS is great.
The Gold Sheet is better for me because they cap games as I do. They seem to have more underdogs than others.
Playbook is 75% technical in capping games. They were dynamite in the bowls.
For about $500 you can get ALL 3. Well worth it. Call TGS and ask for the 3 free issues and go from there if you are not certain. Toe meets leather! LT:103631605 :money8:

VolPett, I meant to respond to your post earlier but got sidetracked from the thread. Thanks for the confidence in trying The Gold Sheet. The Mighty Gators@ The Dreaded Vols on 9-16. They will have to bar the women and children! Toe meets leather! LT:103631605 :toast:
